Letter to Marcella. page 5 Our poor Dad left us tonite. All nine children here for his funeral on Friday June 19. All relations, friends and neighbors were so wonderful. page 6 (Days between June 15 and July 1 not recorded) July 1st. Wed. Sue brought Danny & Kenny out this P.M. Claus, Trace, & Dan here for dinner. Letter to Patty. July 2, Thurs. Mrs. Brody got Dan and Ken and took them all to S. Rapids. Sue out this P.M. to take me to Ashton to do business. Letter from Patty. Ans. it. Letter to Roland Meiers. July 3, Fri. Usual work. July 4, Sat. Jerome and Elmer Johnson here at 8 A.M. to plow corn. Roland about 9 to help. Mr. Zevenbergen here, too. Dorothy out to help with Dinner, etc. Don Larson & Dick Johnson helped plow this P.M. Tommys here this P.M., & stayed. Sneak & Bernie stopped. Fred Heibult brought out beer to the field this A.M. & P.M. They finished about 5:30. Plowed 96 A. page 7 Four men for dinner and supper, besides Jeromes family, and Tommys for supper. Tonite Jeromes, Rolands, Tommys, Mr. & Mrs. Heibult & Glenda, Trace, Claus, & Dan, Jim, Donna, and children, & Bob & 4 children here. Latter late for display. All had ice-cream, cake, & coffee. 15 adults 23 children. Sun. July 5 Tommy & I to Early Mass. Evelyn, Peggy & Joe to Sibley to second Mass. Then to clinic to check on injury Joe got on back of head the evening before, and had 3 stitches taken that nite. They left after dinner. Mon. July 6 Nice. Letter to Pattys and Sylvia. Also to Irma & Sylvia. Latter's husband died July 1. Letters from Jack, Patty, Irma, & Rev. Prik. Tues. July 7 Letter to Jack. Mike & Clara here tonite. page 8 July 8. Wed. 5 Sun. Aug. 30 Roland got me, and went to Mass in Sibley. Breakfast at Alvina's. Jeromes & Pats here for grilled dinner. Pats to Kleins for supper. Jeromes here for chores and supper, then took me to Mrs. Willemberg's wake. Stayed here all nite. Mon. Aug. 31 To funeral Mass at 10:00. Jacks got back to the farm about 11 P.M. last nite. He took me home at noon. They, Jeromes, Tommys, & Rolands here for grilled chicken for supper. Sue also. Tues. Sept. 1 Jacks left for Wyo. this morn. Rainy. Wed. Sept. 2 Vet out to test cows for sale. Mike, Elmer, Richard, Dicky, & Bert helped. All in for coffee. Letters to Sis & Marcella. page 18 Thurs. Sept. 3 Letter to Patty.
