We are always in need of volunteers! Volunteers can help with routine cleaning, special events, and more! This is a great opportunity to spend time in a friendly and welcoming environment, create a good experience for those in the community, and even to get volunteer hours in for those in high school programs that require them. 3 JAM Early Education Who We Are At The JAM Center we believe that it is a privilege to be entrusted with the care and early education of children. We encourage parents to meet with our Director of Early Education to learn about our programs, child care philosophy, and tour our facility. Currently we offer three programs: Full-time Early Education: Daily care that includes developmentally appropriate activities for infants through children entering Kindergarten. Boxcar Kids Club: Before & After School care that includes homework help, fitness activities, snacks, and a variety of fun opportunities. Full-time care available during the summers and school breaks. Full details available at the Welcome Center! The mission of the Judy A. Morrill Recreation Center is to celebrate and strengthen our vibrant community by connecting people and organizations through activities that improve the quality of life for the greater Garrett area. Within this mission we focus on strengthening families, promoting wellness, and developing partnerships. The Judy A. Morrill Recreation Center is more than being about families...we are family! We are committed to making a difference in the lives we touch. We do this inclusively...uniquely delivering hope, direction, empowerment, and support bundled in a healthy mix of wellness, education, and fun! The club meets 1 : : 0 0 p m. Scrapbooking The JAM Center holds mini-scrapbooking retreats once a month with larger Scrap-a-thons twice a year. This is one of the JAM Center s longest running programs. Don t miss these creative fun-filled days with your peers. If any -one is interested in joining, call Pat Bartels at

7 Walk & Talk The JAM gymnasium is open Monday through Friday from 6:00-8:00 am for Walk & Talk. This is a free program for anyone interested in some cardiovascular exercise and quality conversation. 10 Classes & Pricing All classes are FREE for members (Prices listed are for program participants) Kids Korner: Free child care from 6-8 pm for members Monday-Friday. Sign up at the Welcome Center 24 hours in advance for a worry-free workout. BodyFIT (45 minutes) Improve muscle strength, endurance, coordination, definition, and balance in this low-impact class. Free weights and a variety of equipment will be used to help participants achieve their fitness goals. $5/class Cassidy W. Boot Camp (45 Minutes) - Boot Camp is a combination of strength, cardio, muscle endurance, flexibility, core, and functional movement patterns. You get everything you need in one 45 minute class. $5/class Allie F. Cardio Sculpt (60 minutes) - This 60 minute cardio sculpting class will help to burn fat and build lean muscles. Cardio sculpting exercises help in losing weight and toning the body in a short amount of time, and thereby helping one create a new figure. $5/class Alanna B Year Old This class is a fun introduction to the water with an emphasis on safety and basic swimming skills including water entry, water adjustment, breath control, supported/unsupported front and back floating, kicks, and basic arm actions. Older or more developed students will include front and back glides with a kick, rhythmic breathing, underwater exploration, combined arm and leg action, jumping into shallow and deep water, and basic water safety. Students will work on development of basic swimming skills including: freestyle, elementary backstroke, sidestroke, breaststroke and backstroke. Wednesday: 5:45-6:30 pm Member $36.00/Non-Member $58.00(8-week session) Saturday: 11:10-11:55 am Member $40.50/Non-member $65.25 (9-week session) Core Blast (30 minutes) - A 30-minute sweaty workout that will challenge you by functionally strengthening your core and postural muscles. From circuits to floor work, you will leave this class feeling stronger and motivated. $5/class Allison F. POUND Circuit (60 minutes) While combining circuit training and the rhythmic drumming of POUND, you ll get a perfect blend of cardio and strength during this NEW class! $5/class Dawn O. POUND (30 or 60 minutes) Pound is the world s first cardio jam session inspired by the infectious, energizing and sweat-dripping fun of playing the drums. $60/AM session, $75/PM session, $5/class. SilverSneakers (45 minutes) SilverSneakers MSROM (Muscle Strength, Range of Movement) is a low-impact, total body conditioning class in which hand weights, elastic bands, and SilverSneakers play balls are used. We address strength, flexibility, muscle endurance, balance, coordination, agility, speed, and power while working all major and minor muscle groups. $20/session Alanna B. Torpedo Swim Club By joining the JAM s Torpedo Swim Club monthly program, more experienced swimmers will have the opportunity to expand their skills beyond our terrific swim lesson program! This program prepares participants for competitive sports and enhances endurance through having fun, playing games, and making friends. Monday & Wednesday: 4:00 5:00 pm Member $12.00/month; Non-member $24.00/month $40 Equipment Fee (one-time fee) SilverSneakers Yoga (45 minutes) - SilverSneakers Yoga will move your whole body through a complete series of seated and standing yoga poses. Chair support is offered to safely perform a variety of seated and standing postures designed to increase flexibility, balance and range of movement. Restorative breathing exercises and final relaxation will promote stress reduction and mental clarity. $5/class Kristi H. SilverSneakers CardioFIT (45 minutes) This SilverSneakers class includes cardio along with the classic elements of SilverSneakers. Along with the heartrate-raising exercises, this will incorporate elements to increase strength, mobility, and flexibility. $20/session Kristi H

Group class prices vary per session and per day of the week based on the number of classes per session (not including Swim Club). Parent/Tot 6 months 3 years In this class, parents/guardians will be taught methods to help their child with basic water adjustment skills, confidence, and independence in the water with the help of songs and games through bonding and fun! Participants are welcome to pay for the whole session in advance or come on a weekly basis. Saturday: 10:00-10:30 am Classes & Pricing SilverSneakers CardioFIT (45 minutes) A basic step class with a few added tracks focusing on defining abs, legs and glutes. Outcomes/Benefits. Helps tone lower body, increyour ases cardio fitness, coordinates upper and lower body conditioning, and builds core strength. Ability level Great for all ability levels. Step & Tone (45 minutes) - A basic step class with a few added tracks focusing on defining your abs, legs and glutes. Youth FITClub (60 minutes) - Join this new class focused on youth fitness! Participants must be at least 12 years old AND 5 feet tall to participate. Proper form is a key component in this guided course in the weight room. This class will be a great use of cardio machines, weight machines, and free weights for a balanced exercise experience where the techniques can be carried through to adulthood. Whether you're experienced or new to exercise all together, this class will take you to the next level. Cassidy W. TRX Circuit (45 or 60 minutes) - This workout will take you on AND off the TRX. Your instructor will incorporate bursts of intense cardio and strength to get you nice and sweaty while blasting calories. $50/nonmember per session. $10/nonmember drop-in rate (spots are limited at 6 spots per class) - Kristi H. Participants use foam weights and noodles for resistance. This class is a healthy combination of rhythmic aerobics and circuit training to ensure a fun challenge for everyone. $90 per session Jack L. WaterFIT I (45 minutes) No swimming skills required. This shallow water class will focus on use of water resistance to increase endurance, flexibility, and overall range of motion while toning muscles, improving circulation, and posture. $90 per session Joni C. WaterFIT II (45 minutes) Swimming skills preferred. This class will use various parts of the pool to focus on aerobics, toning, and stretching. You will use foam weights, water noodles, and deep water to expand your skills and abilities. $90 per session Joni C. Personal training available. See Welcome Center for pricing.
