3 WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONS PRIMAL MOVEMENT & LOCOMOTION WORKSHOP Expand your concept of play, flow and free expression. Locomotion combines a wide range of dynamic exercises and ground-based movement combinations into a practice that challenges motor learning and brain-body connection. The result is a fun and challenging practice emphasizing multi-planar primal crawling, balance walking, soft jumping, shifting and mindfully traversing. Beautiful, fluid movement comes from a foundation of strength, flexibility, and body control, combined with a playful exploration of what your body can do. Locomotion can be integrated into your existing fitness routine as a warmup, conditioning, or as a foundational practice within itself for the sake of creating resiliency and remaining injury free. RESTORATION MOVEMENT & MOBILITY WORKSHOP Mobility refers to the amount of usable motion that one possesses. Controllable flexibility across articulations (flexibility plus strength). This science backed approach is different than stretching. Active ranges of motion require active internal (muscular) force stimulated by nervous system activity. - People can come from opposite ends of the spectrum (Restricted vs loose jointed). Support and mobility go together within your own training. Use intelligent techniques. You can train for either. - Understand that at any age your body is building and adapting. Our bodies are alive, and we are constantly making all types of tissues. (Skin, lining of digestive system, ligament, cartilage bones being renewed) You are what you do. Movement ability and strength is created by practicing in a greater range, with more variety of positions/loads/directions. What are you using and what are you not using? Be mindful of areas you haven t dealt with much. Repetitive loading of tissues in the same particular movements/ranges is not the most beneficial way of training. Adaptation has specificity and tissues need a variety of stimuli to create a well rounded structure. Walking as weight bearing example. Vertical movement strengthens area only from knee to hip. Learn what it takes to move well. Concepts and principles over intellectual details. Make it useful and doable to you right now. We must find our support inside, through engagement of own muscles and tone. If you want to be free of discomfort but take the easy fix/outside support, there will be no improvements in the long term. you can change so much in your body, but only what you do over time. FLOOR SURFING, GROUND BASED FLOW MOVEMENT (HANDBALANCING EMPHASIS) Begin the workshop with an empowering mind and body connection through integrative floor movement patterns. Floor Surfing offers you the opportunity to explore your relationship with gravity, physical tension, vulnerability, and expression so you can give breath to your life. It utilizes principles from Dance, Qigong, Jiu Jitsu, and Yoga, including slow dynamic stretches, rhythmic circular patterns, articulations, focus points, breathing practices and mindfulness with an infusion of free will. Release stress, resistance, fear, anger and any negativity that is hindering your ability to heal and maintain a happy, healthy and fulfilling movement practice. After Floor Surfing we will commit to a calisthenics focused practice, emphasizing hand balancing. Tap into your potential with bodyweight strength training. Program scalable with limitless possibilities for progression, striking a balance between strength, skill, mobility and flexibility. ATHLETICISM & ELEMENTAL ASSIMILATION WORKSHOP Finishing off the weekend outdoors in the elements to enjoy an athletic approach to training. The new age of athletic training; all humans are athletes, let s explore more fundamentals to build body awareness, coordination, proprioception, healthy joints, metabolic demand and total body control, to name a few. All these add up to prepare an athlete for the endless variables that take place during competition, and training. I m looking for RAW athleticism; this lies untapped due to specialization. All athletes need focused technicality, continuous neural adaptation, exploration of the transverse plane, inversion, an understanding of tension & relaxation, and a gateway for free flowing instinctive physical activity. Once empowered to become a sound mover, then unconscious competence will spring!

For him, the human body s best expression is natural movement, and he believes that a body so naturally in tune is capable of virtually anything. A former Track & Field Decathlete, Aaron is a passionate athlete whose evolution has led him to become a human-movement guru. Merging several fitness principles with yoga, calisthenics and natural movement, Aaron has created his own model. With this innovation, as he does in any instructive setting, Aaron helps you feel invigorated, ready to experience a better exercise and move through your life more freely. 7 FOOD As you will all know, nutrition is just as important as exercise when it comes to maintaining a healthy lifestyle. So whilst you are working hard, our retreat chef will be working just as hard to provide you with healthy but exceptionally tasty food. Using locally sourced and seasonal produce, even using eggs from the chickens and produce from the garden where possible. Of course, you can t travel all the way to France without sampling some of the local wines, so we will provide you with local wine at dinner. You ll be strolling through the vines so you may as well sample the output! TRAVEL INFORMATION Address Domaine de Mournac, Antugnac, France Google maps Mournac Nearest Airport Carcassonne For 50 Euros per person a group transfer can be provided from Carcassonne airport at the time specified in the schedule. Please state this at the time of booking. If you are not arriving at the same time, you can either hire a car to drive to the Domaine (45 minutes), or instead take the airport shuttle and the local train to nearby station of Couiza-Montazels. A member of the team can collect you from there. Alternative airport Toulouse If arriving from Toulouse, you can hire a car and drive 1hr 30 minutes to Domaine de Mournac which will give you the perfect chance to enjoy the beautiful French scenery. Car sharing - if you let us know your time of arrival we will try to match you up LOCATION Domaine de Mournac is in Southern France, very close to the Pyrenees mountains and the border with Spain. Benefiting from glorious sunshine most of the time, but still with green and lush vegetation. You can walk amongst the woodlands in the domaine, or walk up through the vineyards surrounding the property. A trek to the top of nearby Mont Sec is a must!
