This is a fitting location for this year s conference as many US Presidents have graced this venue with their presence over the years. The U.S. Grant is located at the foot of the Gaslamp Quarter which offers a variety of daytime activities for families and many opportunities for socializing over the two free nights during the conference. Our theme for this year is Defining Our Future. This coming year we have new opportunities, from the national attention of the driver shortage to a new Governor and Legislature in office. This is our chance to use our collective voice and our influence as CTA members in Defining Our Future! This year s program will include insight at the federal and national level from ATA President/CEO Chris Spear and ATA Chairman Barry Pottle. We will also hear directly from the newly appointed FMCSA Director Ray Martinez and enjoy an educational and motivating presentation from Brandon Miller, CEO of 34 Strong. Brandon will provide a presentation specific to the Defining Our Future theme as it applies to the Association, membership, your business, and personally. Please join me in San Diego as we usher in a New Year of energy, camaraderie and the exchange of ideas as we lay the ground work of Defining Our Future.

Martinez will be the keynote speaker during lunch on this day. Ray was nominated by President Trump and confirmed by Senate and sworn into office this year. The Agency he leads regulates more than 530,000 trucking companies, 12,000 bus and motorcoach operators and approximately 4 million interstate commercial driver s license (CDL) holders.
