We missed a few of you at the meeting who were sick or out of town (like at the ocean). Things are coming together for the Pirate Run and RFTB. MIKE ABHOLD shared info from the HOG Officer Training in Nevada. CINDY HEDSTROM and I are excited about Saturday s ride and showing the Yakima group Wenatchee's SPECIAL PIE PLACE. Friday at 11:30 DUANE WORRELL could use some help unloading motorcycles at the Toyota Center, and again Sunday morning to load back up. BRING ALL YOUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO THE HOME SHOW THIS WEEKEND AND BUY A NEW HARLEY. April 6th meeting it s very important to have everyone there. We should have flyers, tickets, and tax paper work for donations for the Run for the Border in May. That will give us 6 short weeks to sell tickets and get donations. WE NEED ALL THE HELP WE CAN GET!!!! SO LET S RIDE! Have a happy St. Patrick s Day! Director Gary Save the Date The Thomas A. Biddle Foundation will be having its 4 th annual SOAR dinner and auction on August 18 th. The ride to Lake Wenatchee will take place on Sunday, August 19 th. This benefits veterans families left behind due to PTSD suicide. Run for the Border UPCOMING CHAPTER MEETING The next meeting is FRIDAY, APRIL 6th, 2018 at 7:00 Pm Wellness Place 609 Okanogan Avenue, Wenatchee DIRECTOR GARY has chosen WELLNESS PLACE and THE BRAVE WARRIOR PROJECT in Chelan County as our charities for this year s Run for the Border! The ride to Oroville takes place on Saturday, May 19th (kickstands up at 10am sharp). Please do your part by asking your favorite local businesses for a donation for the gift baskets that will be raffled off that morning. DOUG MCFALL has ordered the tickets and will let us know when they are ready for pick up, then you can start selling them for $5 each!

2 Membership Update Welcome to new member ALLEN HOSFORD from Waterville! Thanks to everyone who has paid their Chapter dues so far. If you haven t paid your dues for 2018, please download a membership form you can mail it with your $15 check to Ron at the address on the website: rship.html Progressive Pig Pot At each monthly Chapter meeting, a name is drawn, and if it s YOU and you are present you get all the monies in the Pig Pot!! Every Chapter member (who is current on their dues) has their name entered into the pot. If a name is drawn and the member is not present, then we will carry over for the next meeting and throw another $20 worth of Chapter money into the Pig Pot. This will continue to grow until we have a winner! WE DID NOT HAVE A WINNER FOR MARCH! LEN MULHOLLAND, YOU MISSED OUT ON $20! The Progressive Pig Pot will be $40 at the April 2018 meeting. *MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN (of course)!! A Word from our Sponsor Page 2 OWENS HARLEY DAVIDSON will be at the Town Toyota Center again this weekend for the annual Home Show! They need help unloading bikes on Friday at 11:30am, so please contact DUANE WORRELL at (509) if you can assist (you know you want to)! They are also taking requests for bikes here s your chance to get the bike of your dreams! We ll be riding for Pi on Saturday and stopping by to see Duane and friends, so feel free to join us! Ladies of Harley (LOH) Ladies, we have a potluck get-together on Monday, March 12 th at NANCY B s house. Dinner begins at 6pm, so please call Nancy at (509) to let her know what you would like to bring. We are also starting a Chapter membership photo album (great idea, STEVE EARLY!), so feel free to bring pictures of you, your bike, your significant other, etc. This is open to ALL females in the Chapter members, riders, passengers, spouses, etc. Also, if you are not yet a member of our Facebook page (LOH Columbia River HOG), please let us know so we can add you! Slow Maneuver Course MIKE SCHARBACH announced that the next slow maneuver course will be on July If you are interested in participating in this, or if you want additional details (cost, hours, etc.), please contact Mike at mike@scharbachs.com.

3 Page 3 Ride for Pie on February 10th Neither snow nor cold nor gloom of night stays these motorcyclists from the swift completion of their appointed ride or something to that effect! A few courageous souls braved the freezing cold and rode out to Lone Pine for lunch: DON & LINDA MCGAUHEY, JAN & JACK LEEMAN, CARL LATTIMIER, GARY & JUDY BRADFORD, KEN & BOBBIE SHANK, AND RON HALL. (My apologies if I ve left anyone out I wasn t there and received this information second-hand.) Ride to Mill Bay Casino in Manson on February 24th Once again, we thought that maybe an early spring was on its way, but it was still pretty chilly when this gang rode to Mill Bay Casino for lunch: GARY & JUDY BRADFORD, REIDA JONES, DOUG & NANCY MCFALL, CARNAN & JUNE BERGREN, AND MIKE & ANITA ABHOLD. They all had a fun time! HAVE A HAPPY ST. PATRICK S DAY!! Upcoming 4 th Annual Ride for Pi this Saturday Our 4 th annual Ride for Pi is this Saturday! This is our first official HOG Chapter ride of the year, so we re hoping for a great turnout. JENNY and her crew at LONE PINE FRUIT & ESPRESSO in Orondo are looking forward to having their parking lot lined with motorcycles, and they will have yummy soup, sandwiches, and PIE for us to purchase! We ll be meeting at the old Food Pavilion parking lot (149 Easy Way, Wenatchee 98801) - KSU at 12:30pm. Some members from our sister Chapter, Yakima HOG, will be riding up from Owens to meet us and to ride with us for Pi as well. Afterwards, we ll be making a detour to the Town Toyota Center to visit DUANE WORRELL and crew from OWENS HARLEY DAVIDSON they will be selling motorcycles at the KPQ Home Show all weekend. IF YOU ARE ABLE TO HELP DUANE UNLOAD BIKES ON FRIDAY, MARCH 9 TH, AROUND 11:30AM, PLEASE CONTACT DUANE. ADDITIONALLY, IF YOU CAN HELP LOAD BIKES ON SUNDAY, LET HIM KNOW. (Hopefully they ll sell them all and have none to load back up!) If you can t make the Pi ride, please at least pay DUANE a visit, and test ride a Harley while you re at it. You KNOW you want to buy a new bike! Boast$ and Brag$ for a Buck This is an absolute first.no BOASTS OR BRAGS THIS MONTH! SLACKERS! Get out there and do something amazing this month so you can brag about it at the April meeting!

March 10 4th Annual Ride for Pi KSU at 12:30pm from the old Food Pavilion parking lot. Join us for our first official ride of the season as we head to LONE PINE FRUIT & ESPRESSO STAND for yummy pie! On our way back, we ll stop by the KPQ Home and Garden Show to say hi to the folks from our Chapter sponsor, OWENS HARLEY DAVIDSON OF YAKIMA! March 10 YAKIMA HOG Chapter Meeting at 9am Feel free to attend the meeting, plus it s 10% off for us at Owens! They are riding to meet us for pie after the meeting. March 11 Daylight Savings Time Begins at 2:00am Turn your clocks ahead one hour! March 12 LOH Get-Together at Nancy B s house. Potluck dinner begins at 6pm. March 17 St. Paddy s Day Parade in Cashmere Dress yourself and your bike in green, and participate in the World s Shortest St. Patrick s Day Parade. Mark your calendars for JULY (it s an overnighter to an undisclosed location). We are still finalizing logistics, but we ll let you know how much and all the details (except for location, of course) as soon as possible. We are still looking for a new newsletter editor! Please contact Katherine or Dave at hogwild2262@gmail.com for info. Wanted Dead or Alive OK technically we d prefer live bodies for this, but hey we re not choosy. Activities Director DAVE DEGEL is looking for volunteers to lead rides this summer, and to burn hotdogs (we re starting Hogs n Dogs back up). We currently have approximately 120 members in our Chapter, so if everyone signs up for just ONE activity this year, that would be fantastic. Dave is not going to be able to do many rides this year, so we need people to step up to help. You can even choose the date, the ride destination / time!
