Welcome back! From The President I hope everyone has had a great start to their new year. I would like to give everyone an update as to what the board and I have been up to these two months.

In addition, we are also putting the final touches on our NW/ SW Regional Meeting in April.

Then for March, we are planning on having some of the folks from Prosper Portland join us.

2 Welcome back! From The President I hope everyone has had a great start to their new year. I would like to give everyone an update as to what the board and I have been up to these two months. Everyone has been working tirelessly to put together not only more great programs, but also finding a NEW venue for our meetings in February, March, and beyond. In addition, we are also putting the final touches on our NW/ SW Regional Meeting in April. For our February program we are excited to have the folks working and overseeing the Rall Wheel Replacement project for the Broadway Bridge in Portland. Then for March, we are planning on having some of the folks from Prosper Portland join us. If that name doesn t ring a bell for you, then maybe you would know them by their previous name, the Portland Development Commission. We look forward to hearing more about their involvement in construction and in the Portland community. The NW/SW Regional Meeting will take the place of our April meeting. The meeting will be held on April 13th & 14th. Sign up information has been sent out on our mailing list. If you haven t received anything, please myself or any of the board members for information. We would love to see a strong local showing at this event. In closing, like I mentioned earlier, we have a NEW VENUE for our upcoming meetings. 3 ASPE February Program A Rall Big Project The Replacing of the Broadway Bridge Rall-Wheels We all heard the warnings on the news and some of us may have experienced the painful effects of the closing of the Broadway Bridge for repairs last year. For our February presentation we will have Brett Schneider, from Schneider Consulting (the owner s project manager for Multnomah County) and Evan Stuart, from Hamilton Construction (project manager for the general contractor) coming to share with us their first hand experiences of the challenges they faced working over a river on a bridge that is over 100 years old. When: Tuesday, February 20, 2018 Social Time 5:30 PM Dinner & Program 6:15 PM This educational program qualifies for 1 CED hour for Oregon CCB license renewal Where: NEW LOCATION Kells Irish Restaurant and Pub 112 SW 2nd Ave, Portland (for directions) There is no designated parking. Plan on street parking or using a nearby lot. 7 Donor Request To Our Friends In The Industry: ASPE will host the ASPE NW/SW Fall Regional Conference on April 13th & 14th. We are reaching out to those of you who do work in the area and hope we can count on you on you to help us make this a great conference. As hosts to professional estimators from the NW/SW regions, we hope to show them what a great place Portland, Oregon is to live and work. We are requesting donations to help us host this event and to raise money for the college scholarships we give each year. If you donate $100 or more by February 15, 2018, you will be able to have a space reserved for your company to display and advertise in our meeting room both days. We are seeking Gold, Silver, and Bronze level sponsors. SPONSORSHIPS Gold Level Sponsor - $500 and up Silver Level Sponsor - $250 and up Bronze Level Sponsor - $100 and up Sponsors must provide their own table for their display Friday and Saturday We are also asking for any items that you can provide as raffle prizes or goodie bag treats.
