3 - 3 - Did you know? Every year 1750 children and young people are diagnosed with cancer in Australia. Thanks to medical advancements around 80 per cent will be cured. However, long and gruelling treatment regimes can put enormous pressure on families. Right now, there are over 8000 families affected by childhood and adolescent cancer. Redkite is there for families from the very moment of a cancer diagnosis, through rigorous treatment and when families return home to their communities. Redkite provides real and practical support; including hospital based support, community based support, financial and education assistance, bereavement support and special family days. Children, young people and families from all major cities, regional areas and remote locations in Australia are supported by Redkite. The organisation receives no government funding and relies entirely on the generosity of the community.

Below are Redkite s fundraising guidelines for you to take into consideration when you are running your event. Once you have completed your Go Red for Redkite fundraising effort, please complete the income processing form and send back to Redkite. Thanks again, good luck and have fun! 1. Fundraising for Redkite 1.1 The Fundraiser will be conducted in your name and is your sole responsibility. You agree to release Redkite to the fullest extent permissible under law for all claims and demands of any kind in any way associated with The Fundraiser, and to indemnify Redkite from all liability or costs that may arise in respect of any damage, loss or injury occurring to any person in any way associated with The Fundraiser caused by breach of these guidelines by, or the negligence of, you, your agents, employees, volunteers or representatives. 1.2 Redkite s insurance policy does not cover events conducted by outside organisations or groups. You will need to organise any insurance at your own expense. 1.3 You must abide by all State/Territory charities legislation and regulations and must apply for any permits and authorities that may be required. This includes all raffles, bingo, vending tickets, other games of chance or any public appeal. Different States have their own legislation, which should be checked beforehand. It is your responsibility to review and ensure compliance with the relevant legislation. 1.4 You undertake that you will at no time represent yourself, including any staff member or volunteer associated with your event, as a volunteer, staff member or officer of Redkite. 2. Financial aspects of The Fundraiser 2.1 The financial aspects, fundraising, raffles, record keeping and management of The Fundraiser are entirely your responsibility and you must comply with any obligations imposed on you by the applicable fundraising legislation, rules or regulations. 2.2 The proceeds of The Fundraiser and a statement of income and the register of all supporters eligible for a tax-deductible receipt are to be sent to Redkite within 14 days of the conclusion of The Fundraiser. 2.3 Individual receipts for tax deductions for supporters of The Fundraiser will only be issued by Redkite if a donation of $2.00 or more is made to Redkite by that supporter. We suggest the money is banked via direct deposit or a cheque drawn in favour of Redkite as soon as possible. 2.5 You must not incur any expenses in the name of Redkite. 3. Using the Redkite logo and name 3.1 If you wish to use the Redkite logo or name on any materials or products, please contact your closest Redkite office for advice. Redkite staff are available to assist you with the most appropriate logo based on your application. 3.2 Redkite can sanction the use of a line of copy to be included on the material or product stating the relationship between you and Redkite for all your promotional material. For example, the line of copy may read, 100% of The Fundraiser net proceeds will be donated to Redkite. Any material on which it is proposed to utilise a line of copy must be submitted to Redkite for approval. 3.3 You agree not to use the Redkite logo or name except as authorised under these guidelines and any authority to fundraise. 3.4 In referring to or promoting Redkite, you must refer to Redkite as one word. The only other wording that may be used in reference to the organisation is: Redkite-supporting children through cancer. 3.5 You must make sure that any advertising or publicity material you produce is not false or misleading and does not imply that the fundraising activity is done by Redkite or as the agent of Redkite, nor is expressly approved or managed by Redkite.
