2 News from CAGT Membership Committee CAGT is fully supported by our members, and each membership adds value to this great organization and makes a difference to our local community. We are proud to share the following exciting news with you. Recently, Fan Zhang and Yiwei Chen, and Gene Hsin Chang converted their annual family memberships to lifetime memberships. Zi Ying Chang also joined us as a new lifetime member. Thank you for your lifetime commitment to CAGT. In addition to these lifers, we have several new members: Feng Guan (UT visiting professor), Changliu Jiang (UT visiting professor), Xin Wang (UT visiting professor), Jianglong Zhu (UT professor), Haowen Xi (BGSU professor), Zhaohui Xu (BGSU professor), and Man Zhang and Fei Li (BGSU Professors). We also greatly appreciate the generous donation of Olive and Titus Wu and their lifetime membership. Last, but not least, it is time to renew your membership. Most of your memberships will expire at the end of this year or have expired. Receiving s from CAGT does NOT necessarily mean that your membership is current since we our current and previous members together and want them to be informed about CAGT s exciting events. To save your time and reduce any inconvenience, it is not necessary for you to fill the CAGT membership form when you renew your membership. 3 CAGT Dance Group Performs at Towne Club s Annual Fundraising Event Jing.Meyer@UToledo.Edu Towne Club, a Toledo women s club dedicated to philanthropy and friendship, held its annual fundraising event at Inverness Club on November 4 th. The charity chosen this year is Toledo Seagate Foodbank of Northwestern Ohio. There were 107 present. All who entered the dining room were stunned by the beautiful array of gift baskets which contained a myriad of things white gold earrings; one-night stay at Belamere Suites in Perrysburg; a number of lovely paintings (one of which was a print from a local artist); full car detailing/cleaning; large basket of salon products and coupons from Soto Salon; lots and lots of gift certificates from restaurants, tickets for the Toledo Walleye Hockey Team and Toledo Mud Hens Baseball Tea; Starbucks donated the coffee, etc. The CAGT dance group was the entertainment for the year. 4 Perrysburg Global Summit 2011 There is a movie clip from the 2010 Summit available here: The Perrysburg Global Summit was initiated in 2010 as a free community event for area citizens, organizations and businesses. The objective of this event is to celebrate diversity in the community while promoting acceptance and respect through education. CAGT participated in the 2010 summit and attracted many students to its cultural booth. The 2011 Perrysburg Global Summit will be held on February 3, 2011 from 5:00-8:00 PM, at Perrysburg Junior High School.
