2 TM Hi, my name is Scott Mallary, founder of Truckin4Troops. I started this foundation in January 2011, to support our troops, Wounded Warriors, veterans and military families. With the help of my family, we began this mission by providing ipods, downloaded with patriotic songs, engraved on the back with "Thank You For Your Service". These ipods were delivered to Wounded Warriors in several military hospitals across the states. The next idea was to purchase massive "F650" pickup trucks to provide a cool and memorable ride to our incoming servicemen and women from BWI airport to local hotels. We also provide Truckin4Troops t-shirts to thank them for their service. From there, we started taking these trucks to Ft. Meade and handing out t-shirts to the military children and randomly taking military families out to dinner - something special for the families. This led to working with other foundations that help these brave men and women. Our involvement has made these events a little more special by bringing our trucks, t-shirts and ipods for the wounded vets. At these events, we started personally meeting some of the wounded soldiers and their families. To try to make them feel appreciated, we pick them up at Walter Reed and Bethesda and take them out for dinner, cookouts, visits to the racetracks, tours of Ft. McHenry, parades, ballgames and other events. We have exhausted all of our personal funds and investments to do what we have done so far. This has been a very rewarding experience for us and we remain very passionate about continuing to do what we can. However, it has grown at a faster pace than ever anticipated and your help is needed to continue providing these services to our well-deserving soldiers. We are currently in need of several F650 pickup trucks that are handicap accessible and offer more seating to carry the wounded and their families to these events. So we are reaching out to our families, friends, local businesses and great Americans to help us on our mission. If you can help us with any donations, big or small, we would greatly appreciate it. 3 TM Our Mission Truckin4Troops is dedicated to supporting and serving our wounded servicemen and women through creating family functions and events such as bonfires, cookouts, swimming, boating, etc. to get the wounded and their families out of the hospital for well-needed rehabilitation. Our goals are to utilize our extremely huge F650 pickup trucks, along with a 15-passenger handicap accessible bus, to transport the wounded veterans and their families to our events or coordinate our efforts with other non-profit organizations in need of transportation to their events. OUR FUNDING Our foundation focuses its funding directly to the local wounded veterans that we are helping during their stay at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland and other local VA hospitals. Our volunteer-based organization focuses our efforts towards ensuring that our troops, military families, Wounded Warriors and veterans understand our appreciation for the sacrifices they have endured for our freedoms today. We are currently raising funds to purchase a small undeveloped community for three (3) combat wounded veterans and to have a retreat home for the wounded and their families to spend a well-needed weekend out of the hospital.
