3 Welcome to our home A warm welcome to The Heathers. You ll find us in a pleasant residential area of Lower Kingswood, Surrey. You will find our home has a cheerful and friendly atmosphere with many of our residents being supported to take part in a variety of activities and trips. You re very welcome to visit us to see The Heathers for yourself. When you come into the home you ll notice the cheerful and friendly atmosphere. 4 The right support We will always ask what you would like to do or achieve. You can trust us to know what we are doing. As a charity we have been providing support to people for over 60 years and we now work at over 200 sites in the UK. Our friendly team are fully trained to provide 24 hour care and support.

5 Great facilities The Heathers is well equipped and comfortable - somewhere you can relax and feel at home. Our facilities include: sensory room dining room sitting room a lovely garden, where we enjoy visits from local wildlife We have a domestic team who make sure our home is thoroughly cleaned every day. Your room We have six single bedrooms, all of which have wash basins and electric hi-low beds. There are also overhead hoists and special adaptations to suit our residents individual needs Dining choices At The Heathers we make sure mealtimes can be enjoyed by everyone. We offer different meal options that are designed to suit you. Our menus are planned with input from our dietician and staff so that any special dietary needs can be catered for. You are very welcome to fully furnish your room or simply bring personal items. Our manager will be happy to discuss furnishing options with you.

Karen, aromatherapist Enjoy activities At our home you ll have the chance to enjoy all sorts of activities we aim to make sure there is something for everyone, whether you want to socialise, exercise or learn new skills. Once a week we are visited by Us in a Bus which is an independent charity that specialises in using techniques of intensive interaction to enable connection with people who have profound learning disabilities and complex needs. Once a fortnight there is a visiting musician and once a week we have an aromatherapist. Our home is situated close to Epsom, renowned as being the home of the Derby, one of the greatest horse racing events of the year. July s music festival is held at the racecourse and always offers great family entertainment. Guests always welcome We welcome visitors at any time - for a chat or a cup of tea.

7 A friendly team All our staff and volunteers are screened by the Criminal Records Bureau before they start work with us. We also make sure new members of our team share our values and are reliable and trustworthy. At The Heathers our team includes men and women of different ages. Our service manager, Veronica, is supported by experienced team leaders. Our volunteers Our resident enjoy the support of a member from The Sunnybank Trust Advocacy. They help in so many ways - by providing support and friendship to simply being there for a chat. Everyone receives frequent training to make sure we always provide you with the highest quality service. Once you move in we will regularly get in touch with you to check you re happy with how we support you.
