If you, your business, or anyone you know is interested in making a donation to the Lodge, please call the Lodge or visit our website. A look here at a reflexology treatment being performed by our very own Isabelle. Reflexology is one of the advanced care treatments offered at the Lodge for the individuals we support. Another added benefit to our constantly evolving levels of service. These treatments help with circulation, provide one to one time and improve quality of life through pain and stress management. Everyone who donated or attended our annual seafood and steak dinner. The dinner was a huge success and we look forward to making it even bigger and better in the years to come! 3 V O L U M E 1, I S S U E 3 P A G E 3 To Our Volunteer Spotlight Jim Tombros As a volunteer with Participation Lodge, I am always amazed at the commitment and dedication of everyone who support the individuals in the various programs. I have volunteered at the Lodge for many years. My career was teaching high school special education for over 30 years. Volunteering at the Lodge is a natural fit for me. I primarily spend time at ABI and have made some special connections with the individuals there. Their welcoming greetings and thankfulness for my time, make it so rewarding. Whether it s going out for coffee and a piece of pie, going to the movies, driving for appointments, or assisting at a fundraising event, I feel such a sense of personal satisfaction. What starts out as helping becomes fun and enjoyable for me as well. The progress some of these individuals have made is nothing short of astounding. It is such a pleasure to be a small part of this process. The Lodge is a happy place and I encourage others to make a commitment to volunteer. You will get more than you give. To Our Board Member Spotlight Angie Rankin I am currently serving my second term as a Board member at Participation Lodge. It has been a rewarding experience as I receive much more than I give. Being a Board member has its challenges, but the reward is greater. The work we do is all based on the needs of the individuals we support and how we can enhance their lives. The Lodge has faced many challenges this past year, but we should be grateful, for we have become better at what we do. It is a pleasure to go into the Lodge, seeing the clients at the front door with big smiles on their faces and receiving their loveable greetings. This is worth more than money can buy, and the reason I volunteer as a Board member at the Lodge. I am thankful for the opportunity to serve at Participation Lodge.

Caption describing picture or Marilyn Markle, better known as Sparkle Markle is a resident at Participation Lodge s Owen Sound site. We would like to honour Marilyn for all the fundraising that she has done for our community. Marilyn has been fundraising since 91 and has done so for organizations like the Salvation Army, OPP and Fire Department, the Heart and Stroke foundation and much more. Lodge activities, programs and future endeavors were discussed in an effort to raise awareness of the Lodge and all the great things that occur within it! Diccon will be starting on January 8th of We are extremely excited to welcome Diccon to the Lodge and look forward to having him join our team.!

Suzanne took the time to knit some lovely hats for babies at the Hospital and delivered them to the nurses herself. There is something so amazing about the gift of giving back.
