2 PEER SUPPORT WHO IS IT FOR? CAN I COME TO PEER SUPPORT? Community Living Well Peer Support is available to: people over 16 who are registered with a GP in Kensington and Chelsea, Queen's Park or Paddington areas of Westminster who have experienced or are affected by depression or other mental health difficulties whose mental health care is being looked after by primary care general practice services or to the carers of those who satisfy the above. We can also take referrals for people transitioning from secondary mental health services through the Community Living Well Primary Care Liaison Nurse team. CAN PEER SUPPORT HELP ME? Peer Support can help you to feel less isolated and increase your confidence. It gives you a chance to gain knowledge about your mental health and to get or give support and talk to others who can empathise through a shared experience. Peer Support offers peer co-facilitated activities which focus on your strengths, hopes and ambitions and can help you develop skills and strategies to self manage and maintain your emotional and physical wellbeing. Peer support can help you through: feeling accepted by others who share your experience developing and sharing skills reducing feelings of isolation building confidence and emotional resilience building new relationships Types of peer support One-to-one Peer Support Meet with a peer, talk through emotional challenges and share coping suggestions. Peer Support Groups Structured self help peer support groups, co-facilitated by a peer, bringing people together who can share their experience. Living Well Workshops Our workshops aim to help you understand different topics and learn new things. Timebank Peer Support The timebank is a network of peers who support each other using time as if it were currency. Social Peer Support Social groups are a great way to meet like-minded people in a safe and supportive environment.

3 Do you need additional support to improve your mental health? and wellbeing? If you are 16 or over or caring for someone who is then Community Living Well is a new service that offers you a different kind of support for your mental health needs. It brings people together from your local community groups, NHS and the voluntary sector in one service which will work alongside you and your GP to help you access the support you need. Other CLW wellbeing services : Community Living Well offers easy access to a range of wellbeing and clinical services in one place, including: Employment Advice, guidance and support to gain or retain paid employment, improve employability skills and know your rights in the workplace Navigation Practical support with a range of issues, including benefits and debt; support to access specialist advice and information and to take steps to improve your wellbeing Self-Care An approach to health and wellbeing which helps to keep yourself well Clinical Services: Psychological Therapies a range of support for when you experience difficult emotions, such as low mood, worry and stress. It can also support individuals who are adjusting to having a new baby or those who need help to live with a long term condition Mother Tongue Counselling culturally appropriate one-to-one talking therapies and wellbeing workshops in Arabic & Farsi Primary Care Liaison Extra structured support from specialist mental health workers co communitylivingwell.co.uk cnw-tr.clw@nhs.net

6 Activity Anxiety & Depression Self-Help Support Group Structured self-help peer support groups aim to bring people together who can share their experiences. It s your chance to talk without being judged, an opportunity to learn about how others in similar situations manage their symptoms and to connect with people who know what it s like to feel the way you do. Please get in touch with Liam to find out if there is space in either groups. Art for Wellbeing: Positive Affirmation Mugs (1st/ 8th August) - 10 Acklam Road, W10 5QZ During this session we will be decorating mugs with positive affirmations. They will be yours to keep and will encourage you to stay positive with their meaningful messages and mantras that are personal to you Art for Wellbeing: Pick 'n' Mix (29th August) - 10 Acklam Road, W10 5QZ This Art for Wellbeing workshop will be a Pick 'n' Mix session that will include mosaic tile coasters, wire art portraits, mindful colouring, canvas paintings and more. City Walkers 14th August - Join us for a walk along Regent's Canal! Meet at Westbourne Park station exit at 6.30pm to set off at 6.45pm. This is a short walk that will last around 45 minutes and finish at Paddington tube station. 16th August - Come along to this one-hour evening stroll along the River Thames! We will take in the London Eye, Southbank and London Bridge. Meet at Embankment tube station exit (facing the river) at 6pm. Morning Coffee - Costa Coffee, Unit 1, Whiteleys Shopping Centre, W2 4YQ Evening Coffee - Wholefoods Cafe 2nd Floor, Kensington High Street, W8 5SE Connect with others over a weekly coffee, tea or refreshment. We encourage a warm and welcoming environment. Meet others who share similar experiences in a relaxed way, with no pressure on you. Film Club - 7 Thorpe Close, Ladbroke Grove, W10 5XL Our next edition of Film Club will be Cast Away, an epic survival film starring Tom Hanks as a man who ends up stranded on a remote island after a plane crash. See how he deals with isolation and depression whilst remaining remarkably resilient. Popcorn and refreshments will be provided and afterwards there will be a chance to chat about the movie. Please let Stuart know if you would like to come as places are limited. London Wetland Centre - Queen Elizabeth's Walk, Barnes, SW13 9WT Join us for a special event as we visit the London Wetland centre! We will see a vast array of wildlife including otters and birds as well as being treated to a guided tour. We are subsidising the cost of this visit by 9; leaving the cost per person as 5. Places are limited and we will require payment in advance. Meal Out: Zizzis - 2 Notting Hill Gate, W11 3JE This month, join us for an Italian feast at Zizzi s. As well as pasta and pizza, they serve, fish, vegetarian and vegan dishes. We will subsidise the cost of each meal by 6. 7 A-Z List Monday Community Hub - St Peter's Church, Kensington Park Road, W11 2PN The hubs include social activities and drop-in peer support which are co-facilitated by a peer worker; someone who can use their experiences of mental health difficulties to support you amongst your peers. Mondays include Community Cooking; share your favourite meal with others as we take it in turns to cook. There is also the opportunity to sing, as group singing has been shown to have a positive effect on our wellbeing. One-to-one Peer Support One-to-one peer support means you can talk to someone who can use their own experience of mental health difficulties and put themselves in your shoes. It is an opportunity to be open about your mental health in a safe and comfortable space. To attend please arrange in advance with Liam. Outdoor Movie: The Greatest Showman - The Lawn, Paddington Basin, W2 1JS Join us for an outdoor showing of The Greatest Showman. As we will be seated outdoors please bring blankets or something comfortable to sit on and dinner/snacks to eat. Crafts - Chelsea Methodist Church, 155A King's Road, Chelsea, SW3 5TX Our crafts group is a great way for you to express yourself creatively, meet new people and benefit from a different environment. We have an array of materials and resources for you to work with. Meditation - West London Buddhist Centre, Royal Oak House, 45A Porchester Road, W2 5DP Join us for a 1-hour lunchtime meditation session which will provide a space for you to relax and calm your mind. Please meet at 12:45 pm to begin the mediation at 1.00pm. Summer at Kew Gardens - Victoria Gate Entrance, Richmond, TW9 3AB Join us for a Walking Tour from 12-1 pm followed by an exploration of the delights that Kew Gardens has to offer. As maximum capacity is 18, please note that booking is essential. We will meet at 11.45am at the Victoria Gate Entrance. If you are not on the tour but would like access to the gardens, please meet us at 12.45pm. After the tour we ll re-group for a picnic so please bring a packed lunch and something to sit on. Park Life 3rd August - Join us for a one hour stroll in the magnificent Regents Park! We will roam past the lake, rose garden and more! Meet outside the Baker Street tube station exit (next to Metropolitan Bar) at 2pm. 9th August - Join us for a sunny evening stroll in Kensington Gardens! We will take in Kensington Palace, the Round Pond, Albert Memorial and more! Meet outside Queensway tube station at 6pm to set off at 6.15pm. 17th August - Join us for a walk in Holland Park! We will take in the Japanese Garden, peacocks, koi carp and more! Meet at the Holland Park cafe at 2pm to set off at 2.15pm. 31st August - Join us for a walk through the beautiful Hampstead Heath! We will admire the ponds and scenic views of London and enjoy a refreshment break at Kenwood House! Meet at Hampstead tube station exit at 1pm, to set off at 1.15pm. V&A Frida Kahlo Exhibition - V&A, Cromwell Road, Knightsbridge, SW7 2RL Join us at the Frida Kahlo exhibition. Please bring some food with you if you would like to attend a group lunch in the V&A courtyard afterwards.
