Minutes of Rutgers University Panhellenic February 21, 2017 The regular meeting was called to order by President Lauren Williams at 9:02 PM at Phi Mu.

The roll was called by Secretary Rebecca Padersky. ROLL CALL: Alpha Gamma Delta Y, Alpha Omega Epsilon Y, Delta Gamma Y, Gamma Phi Beta Y, Omega Phi Alpha Y, Phi Mu Y, Phi Sigma Sigma Y, Sigma Delta Tau Y, Sigma Kappa Y, Zeta Tau Alpha Y. GUESTS: Relay for Life - Tommy and Shay Breast Cancer walks, Hope lodges, biggest event is relay for life in the spring semester - a 12 hour event with Zumba, raffles, bands At the RAC March 24th, all proceeds donated to the American Cancer Society Fliers were given out to the members Comments: Counts towards annual report points Justin Schulberg (RUSA) - president.rusa@gmail.com Overarching body that works with all things to do with undergraduates Academic issues, mental health, sexual assault, sustainability Alcohol culture issues - medical amnesty policy passed - won t be charged if you call 911 for yourself or a friend Student tailgating lots - The Alley Tabling at the student centers with water on weekend nights Texting line with RUPD, off campus lighting, license plate reader, promote safety Elections are next month, guidelines coming out next week Discussion: no blue lights? lack of lighting near dorms? registering message on the bus signs, why? Cabaret bus stop? John Bostic (Keller) Keller - fraternity intramural league Really want to get the Panhellenic chapters involved Futsal, football tournament, or kickball? April 8th - big sports tournament, food, music etc. Glow in the dark dodgeball day

TREASURER S REPORT: The Treasurer reported as follows: Beginning balance 2/7/17 $33, Net Change $ Ending balance 2/21/17 $36, The following bills were approved for payment: NGLA Recruitment room costs OFFICER REPORTS President An incident occurred over the weekend about an Instagram post that went up. February 28th is Greek Night at the RAC, encourage members to go! money to support Michaela and raise money for the Brain Tumor walk that they will be doing soon. Send money with the caption Panhellenic Sisters. Diversity and inclusion survey - Due February 28th, if sisters fill the survey out and send a screenshot to Lauren, Panhellenic will donate $5 to Dance Marathon for every member that does it. Greek Alternative Break - spend a week to help people that are less fortunate than us. We will be partnering with IFC for the next spring break for this, 10 women from Panhellenic and 10 from IFC. We need a Panhellenic woman that has been on an alternative break before to be a site leader for this trip. The next meeting will be about standards and accountability, so please bring someone related to this topic - March 7th. The following meeting on March 21st will be about sisterhood and fun chapter meetings, bring someone that fits this criteria. The round table will be more fun! Vice President of Finance and Communication All chapters have submitted their money for Circle of Sisterhood for last year s donations, and we raised approximately $15,000 which is incredible. If you do still have money, please contact Rebecca as soon as possible so that it can be included. The extra recruitment shirts are available for purchase still, please check your for more information on how to purchase. Please send Rebecca the information regarding how many new members there are in your chapters, as well as the total number of active members.

3 Vice President of Recruitment Budget forms and budget appeal forms are due today. Recruitment team applications will be going out very soon! Victoria would like to visit the chapter meeting of each chapter to inform them about what it is like to be on our side of recruitment. Vice President of Programming Leadership track on March 7th on language matters - LSC PM (tentative on time). It will be a minimum of one member of each grade level but likely more due to outside circumstances. Pan pals will be partnering chapters to have a sisterly bonding event togethers. Event proposal for that is due February 28th. 10% of the chapter, or 15 people must attend, whichever is larger. Ritual week is March 6th - 9th, the first at Rutgers. Monday March 6th: Badge Day Members of the Greek community are encouraged to wear badge attire this day and to wear their badge. Tuesday March 7th: Tabling on Morrell We will have a chalkboard on Morrell street from 12-4 where people can write their values Wednesday March 8th: Wear your letters Members of the Greek community are encouraged to wear their letters on campus Thursday March 9th: Tabling on Morrell We will have a chalkboard on Morrell street from 12-4 where people can write their values Vice President of Community Enrichment Dance marathon tabling - who will be tabling with who, all will be from 12-3PM. Starting next Wednesday through the following Tuesday. We will be selling pretzels at all locations. Cupcake Wars will be April 27th from 6-9PM at Chi Psi s house. More details will be released later. Collegiate Link - a resource for students to see about our organizations and compile all of our social media links into one place. Advisors Taylor - for Dance Marathon, you do not need to report your hours that you did regarding DM. Those will be sent directly to OFSA. NGLA is this weekend, the executive council will come back with what they learned. Allen - Please encourage your NGLA representative to speak about their experience after this weekend. All chapters need to complete the new member intake forms as soon as possible. Invoices will be sent to presidents soon.

4 The next two Mondays will be opportunities for annual report points, if you know someone who has experience with social justice please refer them to Allen. March 1st - the next Lyceum session is meant for the Presidents, but anyone who is interested in being any leadership position it is recommended you sit in. They are at 7:30 PM on the Zoom forum to watch from home. They will be every two weeks, each with a different focus. February 27th - first Archon series, talk to peers about diversity topics, the first is about religion and immigration. We are currently accepting applications for Order of Omega (>3.16 GPA) and Rho Lambda, women s only organization. REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES UNFINISHED BUSINESS NEW BUSINESS ANNOUNCEMENTS Alpha Gamma Delta is working on developing sisterhood and promoting everyone getting to know each other due to being new. They re developing more sisterhood events like study hours. Alpha Omega Epsilon has a sister being auctioned off at the Operation Smile date auction this Thursday. They will be having a sisterhood event this weekend. They will be selling hot chocolate with Phi Mu Delta next week as well. Delta Gamma hit their dancer goal. Cheesy DG is tomorrow! If you want to buy a ticket online in advance please do. $5 for all you can eat cheese. March 24th at 6-9PM in the GSL is their encouraged event. Gamma Phi Beta had their encouraged event, thanks to everyone that came! They had an event with Chi Phi decorating cupcakes. The executive board just went to a regional conference and learned a lot, revoted things based on it. They had a goal setting activity last meeting that will be reviewed later in the semester. Omega Phi Alpha had their big littles matched last week. Retreat is next week. They will be selling fried oreos next week with Delta Phi. Phi Mu had red velvet pancake night which was sucessful. They re doing canning this weekend. Phi Sigma Sigma thanks everyone for coming to the Panhellenic brunch! Thanks for coming to their encouraged event as well. Sigma Delta Tau has been tabling with Phi Kappa Tau selling Valentine grams. They are selling FTK headbands for Dance Marathon. Their encouraged event is a carnival, $5 in advance $7 at the door. They had a conference recently and learned a lot. Sigma Kappa has Bite Night with SAE on March 1st. They tabled at Brower with DU selling baked goods for DM. The new members had a retreat this past weekend.
