1 MEMBER-INITIATED GROUPS Many Indian Ridge members have taken the initiative to bring together other members who share their interests. The Club s goal is to ensure that all groups meet members needs, enhance member satisfaction and provide a sense of community at Indian Ridge Country Club. The groups are described below, along with contact information. For more information, or if you are interested in starting a group, contact Sheri Wilson, Member Services Manager (760) ART INDIAN RIDGE ART ASSOCIATION Start Date: November 2, 2016 (Ongoing) Meeting Schedule: Wednesdays, 8:30 AM 12:00 PM The Indian Ridge Art Association is a group of members who want to foster the enjoyment of creating art by providing a space and a community for sharing ideas, techniques and mutual support. The group is open to artists of all levels and any medium. From sketching, watercolor, acrylic, oil, mixed media, photographic art and sculpture, just bring along your interest and enthusiasm. The group meets every Wednesday morning from 8:30 am 12 pm in the Kramer Room. It is an open studio with concurrent workshops as scheduled from time to time. The group also puts on an annual Art Show in the Clubhouse with an opening Cocktail Party. Numerous pieces are on view in the Health and Fitness Club and remain so throughout the year. BIBLE STUDY INDIAN RIDGE BIBLE STUDY Start Date: November 21, 2016 (Ongoing) Meeting Schedule: Mondays, 8:30 AM 10:00 AM, Weekly This is a Ladies Christian Bible study group with women reading and discussing the Bible and sharing stories. INDIAN RIDGE MEN S FELLOWSHIP GROUP Start Date: November 15, 2016 (Ongoing) Meeting Schedule: Tuesdays, 8:00 AM 9:30 AM, Weekly This is a Men s Christian Bible Study group
2 BOOKS BOOK CLUB #1 Start Date: November 14, 2016 (Ongoing) Meeting Schedule: 2 nd Monday of the month, 10:30 AM 12:00 PM, Monthly Location: Board Room This group selects various books to read over the summer and once a month during season. A different person facilitates the members discussion each month. Currently, this group is at full capacity and unable to accept new members, but interested members can put their names on a wait list for a time when openings become available. BOOK GROUP #2 Start Date: November 21, 2016 (Ongoing) Meeting Schedule: 3 rd Monday of the month, 3:00pm 5:00pm, Monthly Location: Board Room BOOK GROUP # 3 Start Date: November 21, 2016 (Ongoing) Meeting Schedule: 3 rd Monday of the month, 10:30am 12:30pm, Monthly This group selects various books to read once a month and meets once a month to discuss the book chosen. All members facilitate discussion and book selection each month. BRIDGE INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED DUPLICATE BRIDGE PLAY Start Date: November 2, 2016 (Ongoing) Meeting Schedule: Wednesdays, 1:00 PM 4:30 PM, Weekly Location: Health & Fitness Center Meeting Room ADVANCED INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED BRIDGE CLASS Start Date: January 6, 2017 (Ongoing) Meeting Schedule: Fridays, 9:00 AM 12:00 PM, Weekly Advanced Class taught by Angela Taylor. MEN S BRIDGE GROUP Start Date: October 4, 2016 (Ongoing) Meeting Schedule: Tuesdays, 9:30 AM 1:00 PM, Weekly Men s play for intermediate players. Play 3 or 4 wheels; partners are selected by chance and changed after each wheel.
3 LADIES INTERMEDIATTE BRIDGE OPEN PLAY Start Date: November 7, 2016 (Ongoing) Meeting Schedule: Mondays, 1:00 PM 4:00 PM, Weekly Location: Health & Fitness Center Meeting Room CANASTA COUPLES CANASTA CARD GROUP Start Date: November 7, 2016 (Ongoing) Meeting Schedule: Mondays, 6:30 PM 9:00 PM, Weekly This is a social card game for couples and singles to form tables of four. LADIES CANASTA Meeting Schedule: Thursdays, 1:00 PM 4:00 PM, Weekly This group of women plays Canasta on a weekly basis. LADIES ADVANCED BEGINNER CANASTA Start Date: November 2, 2015 (Ongoing) Meeting Schedule: Mondays, 1:00 PM 4:00 PM and Wednesdays, 1:00 PM 4:00 PM, Weekly This group is for players who are learning the strategies and how to play the game. LADIES INTERMEDIATE CANASTA Start Date: October 21, 2016 (Ongoing) Meeting Schedule: Mondays, 1:00 PM 4:00 PM and Wednesdays, 1:00 PM 4:00 PM, Weekly This group is for players with knowledge of the game and rules. Player is also knowledgeable in most splashes and some intricacies of the game. LADIES ADVANCED CANASTA Start Date: November 7, 2016 (Ongoing) Meeting Schedule: Mondays, 1:00 PM 4:00 PM This group is for players that are well versed in the strategies of the game. Player has knowledge of all splashes and intricacies of the game. LADIES MULTI-LEVEL CANASTA Start Date: November 9, 2016 (Ongoing) Meeting Schedule: Wednesdays, 1:00 PM 4:00 PM, Weekly This group is for players of all levels.
4 CARD GAMES (MEN) MEN S GIN RUMMY Meeting Schedule: Monday Saturday, 1:15 PM 4:30 PM, Weekly Location: Men s Locker Room This relaxed group is open to all men who enjoy playing Gin Rummy. Just show up and play! MEN S CRIBBAGE CARD GAME Start Date: November 8, 2016 Meeting Schedule: Tuesday, 12:30pm - 4:00pm, Weekly Location: Men s Locker Room This group is open to all men who enjoy playing CRIBBAGE. CARS & MOTORCYCLES MOTORCYCLE CLUB Meeting Schedule: Once a Month Once a month we offer rides to various locations around the Coachella Valley and Inland Empire. Rides vary in lengths from short rides to Palm Springs for lunch to rides to Borrego Springs and beyond. This club is for experienced riders who love to cruise the roads of America! PORSCHE CLUB Meeting Schedule: Weekends A group of passionate Porsche owners meet every other month for exciting drives with varying destinations. COMPUTERS RMUG (Ridge Mac User Group) Start Date: November 10, 2016 (Ongoing) Meeting Schedule: Thursday s once a month, 2:00 PM 4:00 PM, Monthly Mac User Groups are organizations created by people interested in sharing information about their Apple computers and what they can accomplish with the help of digital technology. User Groups help members with technical questions, give honest advice on choosing software, hardware and peripherals, and provide a friendly environment where people can learn from each other. We offer monthly meetings, an informative website, one-on-one support, and of course, the camaraderie that Apple users share.
5 DISCUSSION DISCUSSION GROUP #1 Start Date: November 9, 2016 (Ongoing) Meeting Schedule: Wednesdays, 1:00 PM 3:00 PM, Weekly Topics are chosen by members. Currently, this group is at full but may have room for a couple of new Members. Interested members can place their names on a wait list for a time when openings become available DISCUSSION GROUP #3 Start Date: November 2, 2016 (Ongoing) Meeting Schedule: Wednesdays, 3:00 PM 5:00 PM, Weekly Discussion topics are chosen by members; supporting documentation is usually provided prior to the group meeting. DISCUSSION GROUP #5 Start Date: December 8, 2016 (Ongoing) Meeting Schedule: Second and Fourth Thursday of each month, 3:00 PM 5:00 PM This group is formal with topics chosen by the group, presented by the group and discussed as a group. Currently, this group is at full capacity, but interested members can place their names on a wait list for a time when openings become available. HEALTH & FITNESS CYCLE GROUP Meeting Schedule: Contact Hall Wade for ride schedule Location: Group Meets at back gate at Hovley A group of cyclists ride together on a weekly basis. Normal route is miles, out and back. Those desiring to ride less can turn around early. All cycling enthusiasts are welcome. HIKE GROUP Start Date: November 12, 2016 (Ongoing) Meeting Schedule: One weekend day of each Month (schedule varies see calendar of events) A new location is chosen throughout the valley for Indian Ridge hikers to enjoy a workout and beautiful scenery. We offer hiking for all levels. Hikes can vary from long steep inclines to flat trails that gradually increase to low hill tops. Terrains vary from flat sandy valley beds to rocky mountain climbs. Everyone is welcome and there is a hike to suit every interest.
6 MAH JONGG (LADIES) LADIES MAH JONGG #1 Meeting Schedule: Wednesdays, 12:30 PM 4:00 PM, Weekly Mah Jongg is a game played with tiles that involves skill, strategy and calculation, as well as a certain degree of chance. All members are welcome to this advanced group, but space is limited. Please call a week in advance to reserve a place. Prior to the game, many players meet for lunch at 11:30 am in the Arroyo Grille. ADVANCED LADIES MAH JONGG Start Date: November 4, 2016 (Ongoing) Meeting Schedule: Fridays, 1:00 PM 4:00 PM, Weekly Mah Jongg is a game played with tiles that involves skill, strategy and calculation, as well as a certain degree of chance. All intermediate to advanced players are welcome, but space is limited. Please call a week in advance to reserve a place. Prior to the game, many players meet for lunch at 12:00 Noon in the Arroyo Grille. SKI / SNOWBOARD SKI & SNOWBOARD CLUB (New Club) Start Date: November Meeting Schedule: Various Trips Planned throughout Ski Season This group is for those who love to ski, snowboard or simply enjoy the fresh mountain air. Trips will be planned throughout the Ski Season to various locations. TRAVEL TRAVEL CLUB Meeting Schedule: This group enjoys upscale leisure and travel, while networking and creating new friends and relationships.
7 WINE WINE CLUB (New Club) Start Date: November 2016 Meeting Schedule: 2 nd Tuesday of the month, Monthly The Indian Ridge Wine Lovers Club allows members to explore the many varieties of wine from around the world in a fun, casual environment within the Indian Ridge Community. Each month (second Tuesday - the date can vary depending on our host's availability or other events at IRCC) we will have a theme for the evening, e.g. Any Pinot, Wines From South of the Equator, etc. We ask couples to bring one bottle of wine & one appetizer to share, singles can choose to bring wine or an appetizer. While this is a more social club, there will be a little bit of wine education offered occasionally with speakers, etc. and a scheduled trip on March 6-9, 2017 for a fun-filled 3-day wine tasting tour throughout the gorgeous rolling hills, vineyards and award winning wineries of Paso Robles.
