Monday, September 3, 2018 A Taste of MUNDO The Columbus Greek Festival Greek Orthodox Church (Downtown) 12 PM Meet at the Brutus Statue in the Ohio Union to explore the history and culture of Greek Americans as part of this annual Labor Day Celebration. Monday, September 17, 2018 Harry Potter and the Hidden Lessons Barbie Tootle Room (Ohio Union) MUNDO and the Ohio State Multicultural Center are teaming up to present an interactive experience based on the adventures of the popular boy wizards from books and films. Stop by and learn more about important lessons hidden in the stories of the "boy who lived." Tuesday, September 4, 2018 Study Abroad Expo 2018 Archie Griffin Ballroom (Ohio Union) 2:00-6:00 PM Come to learn about MUNDO's 2019 study abroad opportunities and more at this year's event that will also have dozens of other study abroad options for going global. Despite the opportunities that classroom learning can provide, not everyone has access to the same resources. Tonight's meeting will focus on why this is an issue that we as a society should be very concerned about. Monday, October 1, 2018 This Is Me - I'm LGBT and MORE! Senate Chamber (Ohio Union) 6:30-8:00 PM Tonight's session will explore why it is important to recognize the unique ways interconnections between sexual orientation and other identities can shape the lived experiences of peers, friends, family members, and others. NYC Pre-Travel Meeting 8:00-9:00 PM Stick around after the Mondays with MUNDO meeting for important updates about NYC Wednesday, October 3, 2018 STAR HOUSE Service Night STAR HOUSE (1220 Corrugated Way) 6:00 PM -8:30 PM Star House builds hope by providing homeless youth with a place to sleep, shower, do laundry and stay for the night along with other community-based services. Volunteer with MUNDO as we help with sorting donations and to learn more about this important resource for at-risk youth. NOTE: Meet at the Ohio Union roundabout area (on the South side of the Union) at 6 PM for round-trip transportation to the site. Monday, October 8, 2018 Intersectionality and Identity Senate Chamber (Ohio Union) Explore scholar Kimberlé Crenshaw's concept of Intersectionality as part of an introductory session design to look at how interconnections between identities can lead to significant disparities between the ways different groups are treated within a society. The unique learning opportunity will feature cultural tours, two Broadway shows, tours, and more! A very special guest panel of OSU students and staff will share their insight on this compelling question. Monday, October 29, 2018 Taking it to the Streets with MUNDO Bolder Room (Raney House) 6:30-8:00 PM Tonight's dialogue experience will focus on ways to more deeply explore individual and group identities, and their role in shaping everyday lived experiences.
