1 Biology Without Borders September 14, 2017 BWB aims to promote ethical volunteerism in our community and abroad. We want to help our members make a difference where they live and around the world.

3 Welcome to BWB! We, the Biology Without Borders student organization, shall lead students on annual global volunteer trips while connecting students with resources and making them advocates for global and social change. Our goal is to promote ethical volunteerism as well as community-based and sustainable projects in underserved areas, both locally and globally.
4 What we do Local Volunteering Group Events/Fundraisers Information about opportunities on campus, postgraduation planning, and internationally through speakers and organizations International Trip Peru Gain incredible life experiences without having to take a semester off to study abroad
5 Want to Get Involved? Become an official BWB member! Join Gopherlink! Volunteer with us! Join a committee! Go to an international trip information meeting. Pick up an application for the Peru trip today! Paint the Bridge! October 5th and 6th, 10am-7pm Jailene at lopez675@umn.edu
6 Membership Application requires one-time $10 fee, includes a BWB T-shirt Leadership roles Opportunity for spot on committees to help coordinate events, plan trips, assist PR, etc. Have a voice in our events Events are tailored to the interests of members! Go on trips with BWB!
7 Committees Trips Help plan your own trip! Set up fundraisers Find plane tickets, train tickets, etc. Plan weekend trips to Machu Picchu and other sites. Volunteering Help me to come up with some ideas for special volunteering events that you want to do. Event Planning Help by coming up with fun events for us to do as a group! Anything from a community project to a pizza/study night before finals. Public Relations Aid the Public Relations coordinator in communicating with the University of Minnesota community through various outlets such as Facebook, Twitter, and GopherLink.
8 Peru Trip 2018 Rough cost: $ with fundraising opportunities Dates: May 17 - June 8/9, 2018 Information Sessions: September 22 at 2:00pm first floor of Bruininks Hall. 14 Upcoming Volunteering Our first volunteering event will be with the Salvation Army on Sept. 24. This event will be limited to 5 spots per shift, but we will have many more to come. 4-6pm or 6-8pm or both Also, the goal of the volunteer coordinator is to organize volunteer events we can do as a group, but also to pass along additional volunteer opportunities so that more people can get involved.
