Although Octave is regarded as crop-safe on most important cultivars, this does not mean that a more sensitive cultivar might not be commercialized in the future. Where a new cultivar is encountered, large areas or large volumes of potato seed should not be treated without prior testing of Octave on that cultivar. CONSULT THE SUPPLIER IN THE EVENT OF ANY UNCERTAINTY. PRECAUTIONS Do not inhale dust or spray mist. Wear protective clothing (faceshield, rubber gloves and boots) when handling or applying the product. Wash contaminated clothing daily. Wash with soap and water immediate after use and/or accidental skin contact. Do not eat, drink or smoke whilst mixing or applying or before washing hands and face. Prevent contamination of food, eating utensils, feed and drinking water. Prevent spray drift onto other crops, grazing, rivers, dams or other areas not under treatment. Clean all equipment thoroughly after use and do not pollute the environment with wash water. In the case of low volume application, the system must be rinsed out with an adequate amount of clean water after seed treatment is stopped, to prevent blockages when the spray mixture dries out. Shake out thoroughly before destroying the empty container. Destroy empty container and do not use for any other purpose. Handle treated seed carefully and clearly mark the bags which contain treated seed POISONOUS. Do not re-use bags for any other purpose. RESISTANCE WARNING : For resistance management, Octave is a Group Code 3 fungicide. Any fungus population may contain individuals naturally resistant to Octave and other Group Code 3 fungicides. The resistant individuals can

3 eventually dominate the fungus population if these fungicides are used repeatedly. These resistant fungi may not be controlled by Octave or any other Group Code 3 fungicides. Since the presence of resistant fungi is difficult to detect prior to fungicide application, it is of the utmost importance that treated areas be inspected at regular intervals to identify the occurrence of fungicideresistant fungi timeously. FMC Chemicals (Pty) Ltd will not accept liability for performance failures in the event of a build-up of resistant fungi resulting from inadequate resistance management practices as indicated on the label. To delay fungicide resistance: Avoid exclusive, repeated use of fungicides from the same fungicide Group Code. Alternate or tank mix with products from different fungicide Group Codes. Integrate other control methods [chemical, cultural, biological] into disease control programmes. For specific information on resistance management contact your local distributor representative. DIRECTIONS FOR USE: USE ONLY AS DIRECTED COMPATIBILITY: Octave is compatible with other fungicides and insecticides commonly used in roses, except those products containing sulphur or copper. It can also be mixed with Wuxal 3:2:1 (Reg. No. K4039) foliar fertilizer, which will simultaneously buffer the spray solution at ph 6,5 if used as recommended. MIXING INSTRUCTIONS: Half fill the spray tank with clean water. Pre-mix the required quantity of Octave in a small volume of water to form a smooth cream. Agitate the water in the spray tank whilst adding the pre-mixed product. Fill the spray tank with water to the required level while maintaining agitation to ensure thorough mixing of the spray mixture. Maintain agitation while spraying. Prepared spray mixture must not be left in the spray tank for any length of time e.g., overnight. Ensure that agitation takes place for a few minutes prior to commencement of spraying after normal operational stops, e.g., lunch breaks. APPLICATION TABLE: CROP AND DISEASES DOSAGE REMARKS APRICOTS, PLUMS AND PEACHES Blossom blight CULTIVATED MUSHROOMS (Agaricus bisporus) 25 g/100 l water Apply as a high volume application at l spray mixture / ha. Commence application when 5 % of blossoms are in the balloon stage. Repeat every 6-7 days until 100 % petal drop. First application: Water on 7-9 days after casing. 3 g/m² in 1 l water. Dry bubble (Verticillium fungicola) Second application: 1,2 g/m² in 1 lwater Water on after the second flush of mushrooms i.e., after the first break. Wet bubble (Mycogone perniciosa) MANGOES Powdery mildew (Oidium mangiferae) Blossom spot (Alternaria alternata, Colletotrichum gloeosporioides) 25 g/100 l water Apply as high volume application commencing at % flowering and repeat at 14-day intervals up to 100 % petal drop. Use in alternation with chemicals with different modes of action. The above application will suppress blossom blight (Dothiorella dominicana) up to 74 %.

4 POTATOES SEED TUBERS ONLY Black dot (anthracnose) (Colletotrichum coccodes) Silver scurf (Helminthosporium solani) ROSES Black spot (Diplocarpon rosae) Powdery mildew (Sphaerotheca pannosa) EUCALYPTUS SEEDLINGS AND CUTTINGS To promote survival, rooting and vigour (Only for use in Mondi nurseries situated at Eshowe, Tzaneen and White River) 300 g/1 000 kg seed Apply as a Low Volume (LV) application in 2 3 l water / kg seed. Ensure even coverage of the total seed area. The Spraymiser applicator is recommended as it has been designed specifically for treatment of seed potatoes g/100 l water g/100 l water 100 g plus 480 ml Previcur N (Reg. No. L3394) per 100 l water Apply the lower volume to tubers harvested from sandy soils and the higher volume to tubers harvested from clay soils. Potatoes which will be used as seed must be treated directly after harvest, followed up with a second application approximately 14 days before planting. Refer to Important Notes 1 to 5. Apply at 7-10 day intervals as a preventive treatment, using the lower rate. Use the higher rate when disease pressure is high. As a corrective spray, apply the higher rate twice at 5 day intervals and thereafter at 7 day intervals until symptoms disappear. If required a wetter may be added to the spray mixture. Preventive treatment only: Apply as a full cover spray at 7 day intervals, using the higher rate when disease incidence is high (cloudy weather, high humidity). Apply 3 l of the mixture per m 2 as a drench to seedling trays immediately after planting. Application may be repeated if necessary. IMPORTANT NOTES: 1. To achieve adequate and even coverage of the potato tubers with Octave, it is critical that the correct equipment which is correctly calibrated must be used. Refer to the publication Guidelines for low- volume treatment of seed potatoes (ARC Institute for Agricultural Engineering, Pretoria (Tel ). 2. Apply Octave only once to the same batch of seed potato tubers. It is recommended that Octave be alternated with other remedies which are registered for the control of black dot (anthracnose) and/or silver scurf, e.g., Celest 100 FS (Reg. No. L6173 ) and Rhapsodie (Reg. No. L6172). 3. Octave will only be effective if treated tubers are planted in soil not infested with the black dot (anthracnose) fungus. 4. Tuber treatment with Octave will not protect the progeny tubers against the disease for an indefinite period. Progeny tubers must therefore be lifted when ready and must be treated again, should they be destined for seed. 5. Tubers must be relatively clean when treated with Octave. Dra beskermende klere (gesigskerm, rubberhandskoene, stewels) tydens hantering en toediening van die produk. Was besoedelde klere daagliks. Was onmiddellik met seep en water na gebruik of velkontak. Moenie eet, drink of rook tydens vermenging of toediening of voordat hande en gesig gewas en skoon klere aangetrek is nie. Verhoed besoedeling van voedsel, eetgerei, voer en drinkwater. Verhoed wegdrywing van die sproeinewel na ander gewasse, weidings, riviere, damme of ander gebiede wat nie behandel word nie. Maak alle apparaat deeglik skoon na gebruik en moenie die omgewing met spoelwater besoedel nie. In die geval van lae volume behandeling moet die apparaat onmiddellik met voldoende skoon water uitgespoel word sodra behandeling gestaak word, om te verhoed dat blokkasie ontstaan wanneer die spuitmengsel droog word.

6 Skud die houer deeglik uit voordat die leë houer vernietig word. Moenie die houer vir enige ander doel gebruik nie. Hanteer behandelde saad versigtig. Merk sakke wat behandelde saad bevat duidelik GIFTIG. Moenie sakke vir enige ander doel hergebruik nie. WEERSTANDSWAARSKUWING : Vir weerstandsbestuur is Octave as n Groepkode 3 swamdoder geklassifiseer. Enige populasie van n spesifieke swam mag individue insluit wat n natuurlike weerstand teen Octave, of enige ander Groepkode 3 swamdoder het. Indien hierdie swamdoders herhaaldelik aangewend word, kan die weerstandbiedende individue uiteindelik die swampopulasie oorheers. Hierdie weerstandbiedende swamme sal moontlik nie deur Octave of enige ander Groepkode 3 swamdoder, beheer word nie. Aangesien die voorkoms van weerstandbiedende swamme moeilik is om te bepaal voor swamdodertoediening plaasvind, is dit uiters noodsaaklik dat behandelde gebiede met gereelde intervalle ondersoek word om weerstand vroegtydig te identifiseer. FMC Chemicals (Edms) Bpk. sal nie verantwoordelikheid aanvaar vir enige gebrek aan prestasie in die geval van die opbou van weerstand in die swamme as gevolg van onvoldoende swambestandheidsbestuur soos aangedui op die etiket nie. Om weerstand teen swamdoders te vertraag: Vermy die eksklusiewe, herhaaldelike gebruik van swamdoders in dieselfde swamdodergroepkode. Wissel af met, of gebruik tenkmengsels van produkte in verskillende swamdodergroepkodes. Integreer ander beheermaatreëls (chemies, verbouing, biologies) in siektebeheerprogramme. Vir spesifieke inligting oor weerstandsbestuur, kontak u naaste verspreider verteenwoordiger. GEBRUIKSAANWYSINGS: GEBRUIK SLEGS SOOS AANGEDUI VERENIGBAARHEID: Octave is verenigbaar met swamdoders en insekdoders wat algemeen op rose gebruik word, behalwe dié wat swael of koper bevat. Dit kan ook gemeng word met Wuxal 3:2:1 (Reg. Nr. K4039) blaarkunsmis, wat terselfdertyd die spuitmengsel sal buffer teen ph 6,5 indien gebruik soos aanbeveel. MENGINSTRUKSIES: Maak die spuittenk halfvol met skoon water. Meng die benodigde hoeveelheid Octave vooraf met n klein volume water tot n gladde room. Roer die water in die spuittenk tydens die byvoeging van die vooraf-verroomde produk. Vul die spuittenk met water tot by die verlangde vlak terwyl daar voortdurend geroer word om deeglike vermenging te verseker. Handhaaf roering tydens bespuiting. Aangemaakte spuitmengsel moet nie in die spuittenk gelaat word vir n onbepaalde tyd nie, bv. oornag. Maak seker dat die mengsel vir n paar minute geroer word voordat voort gegaan word met bespuiting na n onderbreking van spuitproses bv. na etenstyd. TOEDIENINGSTABEL: GEWAS EN SIEKTES DOSIS OPMERKINGS AARTAPPELS SLEGS MOERE Antraknose (Colletotrichum coccodes) Silwerskurf (Helminthosporium solani) 300 g / kg saad Dien toe as n Lae Volume (LV) bespuiting in 2 3 l water / kg saad. Verseker egalige bedekking van die totale oppervlakte van die moere. Die Spraymiser toediener word aanbeveel aangesien die apparaat spesifiek ontwerp is vir die behandeling van saadaartappels. Dien die laer volume toe op moere wat uit sanderige grond gehaal is en die hoër volume op moere wat uit kleigrond gehaal is. Behandel aartappels wat as moere gebruik gaan word net na oes, opgevolg met n tweede behandeling ongeveer 14 dae voor plant. Verwys na Belangrike Notas 1 tot 5.

7 APPELKOSE, PRUIME EN PERSKES Bloeiselversenging MANGO S Poeieragtige skimmel (Oidium mangiferae) Bloeiselvlek (Alternaria alternata, Colletotrichum gloeosporioides) 25 g / 100 l water Dien toe as n hoë volume bespuiting teen l spuitmengsel / ha. Begin toedien wanneer 5 % van bloeisels in ballonstadium is. Herhaal elke 6-7 dae tot en met 100 % blomblaarval. 25 g / 100 l water Dien toe as n hoë volume bespuiting beginnende by % blom en herhaal met 14 dae tussenpose tot en met 100 % blomblaarval. Wissel af met middels met n ander werkingsmetode. Die bogenoemde toediening sal bloeiselversenging (Dothiorella dominicana) onderdruk tot n vlak van 74 %. GEKWEEKTE SAMPIOENE (Agaricus bisporus) Droëmol (Verticillium fungicola) Natmol (Mycogone perniciosa) Eerste toediening: 3 g/m² in 1 l water Tweede toediening: 1,2 g/m² in 1 l water Water in 7-9 dae na bedekking ("casing"). Water in as sampioene vir die tweede keer uitloopsels maak, d.w.s. na die eerste "breek". ROSE Swartvlek (Diplocarpon rosae) g/100 l water As voorkomende behandeling, dien die laer dosis toe met 7-10 dae tussenpose. Gebruik die hoër dosis as die moontlikheid vir die siekteontwikkeling hoog is. As korrektiewe behandeling, spuit die hoër dosis tweemaal 5 dae uitmekaar en daarna elke 7 dae totdat siektesimptome verdwyn. Indien nodig mag n benatter by die spuitmengsel gevoeg word. Poeieragtige skimmel (Sphaerotheca pannosa) g/100 l water Slegs voorkomende behandeling: Dien as 'n voldekbespuiting toe elke 7 dae en gebruik die hoër dosis wanneer die moontlikheid van siekteontwikkeling hoog is (bewolkte weer, hoë humiditeit). EUCALYPTUS SAAILINGE EN STEGGIES Vir die bevordering van oorlewing, wortelvorming en groeikrag (Slegs vir gebruik deur Mondi-kwekerye te Eshowe, Tzaneen en Witrivier) 100 g plus 480 ml Previcur N (Reg. Nr. L3394) per 100 l water Dien 3 l van die mengsel /m 2 as n deurweking toe op saadbakke onmiddellik na saailinge / steggies geplant is. Toediening mag herhaal word indien nodig. BELANGRIKE NOTAS: 1. Om voldoende en egalige bedekking met lae volume behandeling te verseker, is dit krities dat die korrekte toerusting, wat korrek gekalibreer is, gebruik word. Verwys na die publiskasie Riglyne vir lae volume behandeling van aartappelmoere, beskikbaar by die LNR Instituut vir Landbou-Ingeneurswese, Pretoria (Tel ).

8 2. Dien Octave slegs eenkeer op dieselfde lot aartappelmoere toe. Dit word aanbeveel dat Octave met ander middels wat vir die beheer van antraknose en/of silwerskurf geregistreer is, byvoorbeeld Celest 100 FS (Reg. Nr. L6173) en Rhapsodie (Reg. Nr. L6172) afgewissel word. 3. Octave is slegs doeltreffend indien behandelde moere in grond geplant word wat nie met die antraknoseswam besmet is nie. 4. Moerbehandeling met Octave beskerm nie die nageslagknolle van behandelde moere vir n onbepaalde tydperk teen die siektes nie. Nageslagknolle van behandelde moere moet dus uitgehaal word sodra dit oesgereed is en weer behandel word, indien dit vir saad bestem is. 5. Moere moet relatief skoon wees wanneer dit met Octave behandel word. Grond en ander deeltjies wat aan die moere kleef, mag voldoende bedekking verhinder.
