2 WELCOME Dear Colleague, my Department and the Scuola di Oncologia Chirurgica Ricostruttiva are organizing a conference dedicated to the Aesthetic Surgery of the Breast, and patients future health regarding the oncological point of view. The goal of the conference is to gather International and European experts in breast aesthetic surgery for three days to give the participants the opportunity to learn the state of the art and new techniques through multimedial presentations. Aspects regarding safety, choice of implants, breast imaging for breast cancer detection and techniques will be covered in full. Workshops and video sessions on special areas are also planned. Founded in June, 1999 by Dr. Maurizio Nava, director of the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Unit of the National Cancer Institute of Milan. The goals of the School are: To contribute in increasing information available in the area of oncological reconstructive surgery. To organize and promote Courses, Seminars and Congresses on this area of speciality. To develop research in oncological reconstructive surgery and produce journals and multi-media material. 10 ABSTRACTS Abstracts Participants are invited to send abstracts on: Innovations, complications and new techniques in breast aesthetic surgery Breast prevention and detection after aesthetic surgery The abstracts will be reviewed by the Scientific Committee and the abstracts that are given the highest points will be included in the Scientific Programme. Abstracts must be written in English and be in Times New Roman font and should not exceed 1000 characters. Send the abstract either by as an attached document to: indicating as the subject Aesthetic Surgery of the Breast or by surface mail saved on a floppy disk in word. You should indicate the authors name and the list of co-authors, the name of your institute and personal address, , telephone and fax.
