20 The SCVL has identified a number of areas to further improve its current FMD diagnostic capabilities: 1. Improvement of diagnostic capabilities on FMD. (Deployment of certain OIE prescribed tests that have high specificity such as the virus neutralization test, and automated DNA sequencing for genotyping 2. Selection of an adequate vaccine strain of FMD. (an r 1 value measurement method, and challenge and vaccine matching tests. 3. Construction of transport systems and the collection of materials. (Construction of the system involved in the transport of vaccines, harvesting methods of optimal samples onsite, and transport of samples and also, pathology materials form infected materials, and anatomy) (Include FMD and bluetongue or swine vesicular disease) 4.
