With Walks in 18 cities across the nation in the spring and fall, a Walk4Hearing sponsorship can connect you to more than 10,000 participants leading the way to increase awareness about hearing loss and hearing health. That array of work is evident in Walk4Hearing events nationwide, which bring together local community members, area support services, and the latest technologies, all with the goal of raising awareness and promoting education about hearing loss issues. For those of you familiar with HLAA, we have made some exciting changes to the HLAA brand, including new logos for the corporate HLAA organization and its premier program, Walk4Hearing. A critical element of increasing brand awareness is consistency in all that we say and do. It is with that in mind that we are excited to introduce you to the new Walk4Hearing brand. The new Walk4Hearing logo now has a similar look and feel to HLAA. Presenting a more unified brand will help all the Walk4Hearing events raise even greater awareness to support people with hearing loss. There is also a new name and fresh look for our popular bimonthly magazine, now named Hearing Life. All these changes are not without purpose; they are all part of a well-thought-out strategy to strengthen and build the HLAA brand.

2 WALK DAY EXPERIENCE IS UNFORGETTABLE Thousands of walkers and hundreds of teams are formed each year, many of them support one person who brings their family and friends to the Walk. Here s what happens at an HLAA Walk4Hearing: Everyone affected by hearing loss is empowered and inspired Lots of kids with hearing loss come and see there are others like themselves Parents come and share stories and resources People realize they are not alone with their hearing loss Walkers share their hearing loss journey Lifelong friendships are formed People get information they might not easily find anywhere else when national and local sponsors exhibit their products and services. Untreated hearing loss affects overall health in negative ways falls, isolation, anxiety, depression, and now, a link between untreated hearing loss and cognitive decline. HLAA s Walk4Hearing is collaborating with local communities to promote the importance of hearing health and hearing screenings. Several Walk locations will provide a free hearing screening for walkers and provide information should they need to see an audiologist for further testing. When Cheri s family attended the Walk4Hearing in 2017, Cheri was excited to see that the Walk provided a hearing screening van. She encouraged her father to get his hearing screened. Cheri explained, For years, my dad used the word what too often. Once the results confirmed his hearing loss, he was given the next steps of what to do. He visited an audiologist and purchased hearing aids. My dad is now able to join the conversation.
