Abstract: Participants will hear from key representatives in the field of blindness technology discussing new technologies and software/applications that can lead to success in the workplace. Abstract: Conference participants will hear from other blind individuals about their careers and how they found success in the working world. Questions including the following will be addressed by the speakers: How do you believe you achieved your success in the workplace; What technologies, adaptive or otherwise, have assisted you with your greatest successes; In getting started, describe your job exploration process and how you may have adapted it over time; In the workplace, what did you have to do to advocate for yourself. Abstract: In this module, key social skills for successful mainstreaming are described and rehearsed. 3:30 PM 5:30 PM Seminar Other Blind Agencies Present: "Know Your Direct Resources in Missouri." Presenters: RSB, Kevin Faust or Keith Roderick; St. Louis Lighthouse, John Thompson; Alphapointe, Clay Berry; World Services for the Blind, Sharon Giavoni. Abstract: A variety of agencies will present information on direct resources for vocational and educational success.
