1 MOVEMENT SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE Physical Education Grades 9-12 Course 1 TEAM SPORTS, PERSONAL FITNESS AND WATER SAFETY The student will: 1. Student is competent in many movement activities. Can the student demonstrate competence in three movement forms? develop a portfolio documenting his ability to be competent in three different types of movement forms. Support can be a videotape of performance, certificate from a recognized sport agency or acceptable grade on a written and skill evaluation. all Secondary Basic Course Of Study for fitness-related activities and activity units currently found in the district Curriculum Desk Manual 2. Student understands basic water safety. Can the student understand the need to be safe around and near water and water activites? demonstrate the knowledge of how to be safe in and around water. California Department of Boating and Waterways Aqua Smart program on Water and Boating Safety (AVAILABLE FROM THE LEARNING RESOURSE CENTER) 3. Student understands basic strategies of games and sports. Can the student demonstrate and discuss offensive and defensive strategies? analyze offensive and defensive strategies in games and sports and incorporate them while playing.
