4 KEY N O T E SPEAKER Lumír Ondřej Hanuš obtained his M.S. in analytical chemistry, Ph.D. in analytical chemistry and associate professor in organic chemistry from Palacký University and his D.Sc. in pharmaceutical chemistry from Charles University. At present time, he is Chief Scientist at Asana Bio Group Ltd. and retired Research Fellow of Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He was awarded with Honorary Doctorate degree - Chemiae Doctor honoris causa (2007) and Medicinae Doctor honoris causa (2011), Hanuš medal (2005), Outstanding Immigrant Scientist in Life Sciences and Medicine (2010), Addictology Award (2012), Olomouc City Award (2013), and Lifetime Award Winner (2016). In 1992, he was the first person to isolate from the brain first endogenous ligand for cannabinoid receptor which was named anandamide. This discovery opened the world to medicinal use of cannabis. 5 YOAV GILADI ISRAEL Has a background in biology from Ben-Gurion University, and studied genetics and breeding at the Hebrew University Faculty of Agriculture. In addition, he served as R&D Manager in a licensed cannabis growing facility for the Israeli Ministry of Health, as well as the Head Breeder in an industrial hemp company licensed by the Colorado Department of Agriculture. He recently joined a research team in the Agricultural Research Organization on cannabis molecular biology. DRA. LUISA FERNANDA OSPINA COLOMBIA Microbiologist and Bioanalytic, with a master in Biology from Antioquia University in Colombia. Researcher on the use of medicinal plants; two years ago started "Flor Médica", an independent and educational project to share scientific information about different plants, specially cannabis. Dr. Ospina participated as a Therapist at the non-profit "Fundaluva", supplying cannabis base medicine to patients with epilepsy, cancer, chronic pain and metabolic alterations. DRA. DANIELA VERGARA UNITED STATES Evolutionary biologist who received her doctorate in 2013 from Indiana University s Ecology, Evolution and Behavior program. Dr. Vergara started the Cannabis Genomic Research Initiative, group that aims in understanding the cannabis genome. She is also the Director of a non-profit organization The Agricultural Genomics Foundation.

6 FERNANDO BELANZARAUN MÉXICO Graduate in Philosophy with Honorable Mentions by the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the National Autonomous University of Mexico. Was the Secretary of the Directive Commission of the Government and integrated municipal ordinances of Transparency and Anticorruption. President of the Organizing Group of the International Drug Policy Forum. DR. JUAN CARLOS RESTREPO COLOMBIA Medical surgeon with a completed mastery in Clinical Epidemiology from Harvard University; focused in the area of clinical and observational trials and efficacy studies, and in scientific writing. Dr. Restrepo has been working with medical cannabis and some specific projects with THC since 8 years ago. He has also dedicated his time in creating innovative products with CBD, terpenes, tannins, phenols, and other subjects of current impact.
