Jacksonville members Meet at 2:45 for a 3:00 PM departure at the new Flea Market, formerly MacMillans INSIDE THIS ISSUE: July meeting 2 Prayer request and praises 3 Cars and Coffee 4 July meeting 5 Mustang Week 6-8 Upcoming Events 9 The July meeting of the SENCMC was held on July 13, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Carolina Barbeque in Kenansville, NC. In the absence of our president Kurt Miller, Sr., Greg Griffith, vice president called our meeting to order. We recognized the members present who are celebrating birthdays in July, those present were Jackie and Jessie Lisane, Horace Keenan, Neal McLean, and Kim Smith, Happy Birthday to all of you and may you have many, many more Mustang Birthdays to celebrate. Jessie asked the Lord to bless our food, our meeting, and all of our members. We then enjoyed a delicious buffet meal. There were 31 of our members present and Jessica Goff brought a visitor, Jonathan Bryan to enjoy our fellowship and our cars. We had 14 Mustangs in the parking lot, and 4 non-mustangs (most of these were Ford powered.) We circulated a card for our friend Katrina Hull who is currently battling cancer. Please keep Katrina and Bruce in your prayers as they are dealing with this challenge. Katrina s most recent doctor visit came with excellent news. She is responding well to the treatment, the cancer is in retreat, and we need to keep our prayers going strong to help give her the strength she needs to battle this enemy. Rather than a 50/50 drawing at this meeting we voted to send the money that would have gone into the 50/50 to Katrina to use as she needs it this next week or so. Thank you all for your generosity and love to our friends. Cara Morrell received an award at the Poplar Grove Show on July 12. Mustang week plans were discussed. There will be a cruise leaving the BP Station at Magnolia Greens on Tuesday for the Meet and Greet at the Palace Theater, and then again on Saturday to go to the big cruise in for Mustang Week. Several of our members will be attending and entering their cars in the show. Sue and Neil Anders, Cara Morrell, Lint Morrell, and John Talatinian are entering their cars.

2 Page 2 JULY MEETING CONTINUED Our annual show is rapidly approaching. We are in need of items for goodie bags. Kim and Colwell Smith have volunteered to take the bags and the items to their home and fill all the bags and bring them the morning of the show. Unfortunately we will be competing against several other shows the same weekend, but if we all work together advertising our show we should have an excellent participation. We are in need of door prizes as well. Neil Anders has confirmed that the #43 car will be coming again and this should be a way to bring in more spectators for our show. Chili has agreed to provide take out menus and will deliver to the show field for those wishing to purchase lunch the day of the show. We will locate the hospitality area in a tent (we need a tent for this endeavor). Gloria explains that we have bracelets to issue to those participating in the show and therefore eligible to come to the tent to eat. If we are doing things this way everyone will need to bring food to share so that we can feed ourselves and the show participants. There are a number of sites within walking distance where the participants and spectators may purchase food as well. Randy and Betty Rackley are taking this year off from our show in order for Randy to completely recover from his surgery, but we will still have the games as always. We have several members willing to help with the games and we will obtain all the items for the games from Randy before the day of the show. Several of our members have new cars. Neal McLean has a new 2014 Race Red GT. Jim Cross has a new 2014 Silver California Special. He has also earned the first speeding ticket in his new ride. Jim did smile when he told us about it, and the consensus of the members is the police officer really wanted to check out the new car and had to give Jim a ticket to justify his curiosity. Don Nichol has a 2008 Torch Red GT 500. Marcus has a new 2014 Twin Turbo Eco Boost F150. Everyone had a great time admiring all the new rides in the parking lot. Our next meeting will be August 10 at Chili s in Wilmington. After the meeting and our meal in the restaurant we will go out to the parking lot and plan the lay out for our show field and the staff areas. Greg called for a motion to adjourn the meeting, Jessica Goff made the motion, it was seconded and the meeting was adjourned.

3 Page 3 PRAYER REQUESTS AND PRAISES Our membership is a family where we try to share our joys and our sorrows, our concerns and our blessings. We have a few ongoing prayer requests as well as some praises to share this month. Aly Thompson, daughter of Gloria and Terry Thompson, has shared with us that she is on the promotion list in the Air Force. Aly will be promoted to SSgt in the Fall of this year. Congratulations to Aly, and thank you for your service to our nation. Bonnie Sawyer has added new duties to her job and is working diligently as she trains for these new duties. Great work Bonnie, we miss you but we are very happy for your success. Please continue to keep Katrina Hull and Bruce Sandy bathed in prayer as Katrina continues her fight against breast cancer. Katrina has received very positive news at a recent trip to her doctor and we rejoice with them in this. Continue to lift them up as she has more treatment ahead, but with our prayers and support she will be a winner against this insidious disease. 4 Page 4 CARS AND COFFEE Cars and Coffee in July brought out a large group of SENCMC members. We enjoyed the fellowship and food and spent a very pleasant morning admiring the cars that everyone drove to the event. The August Cars and Coffee will be held at Chilis on August 2, 2014 beginning at 9:00 AM. If you are able to join us please come out and have a fun Saturday morning of Cars, Coffee, and Conversation.

5 Page 5 JULY MEETING Our July meeting was held at Carolina Barbeque in Kenansville. We were able to admire several new cars and enjoyed our time of fellowship together.

6 Page 6 MUSTANG WEEK 2014 Our club was very well represented at Mustang Week in Myrtle Beach, SC. Several members won awards at the show, and everyone who attended enjoyed admiring the Mustangs and the fellowship of other Mustang Enthusiasts.
