2 AFFILIATION INFORMATION All states are required to affiliate directly with the national association prior to October 15 th if they wish to attend the fall leadership rally. Please use the following resources to aid you in the affiliation process. Should you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at Membership Recruitment Video Step-By-Step Affiliation Instructions Affiliation Tutorial Video Additional information and resources can be found here: FALL LEADERSHIP RALLY Our annual fall leadership rally will be held at the Dry Creek Retreat Center in Dry Creek, Louisiana on October 16 th, The Dry Creek Retreat Center is located at the intersection of LA-Hwy 113 and 394. Specific driving directions can be found attached with this document. REGISTRATION: CHAPERONES: LODGING: Registration will be live from late August to September 25 th and can be found here: REGULAR REGISTRATION (ENTERED AFTER SEPTEMBER 1 ST ) $35.00 LODGING $39.00 /night ADDITIONAL MEALS $8.50/meal The price of registration includes: admission to all sessions, conference materials, one meal, and a t-shirt. Chapter advisers, parents of members, local administrators, educators, and any others wishing to attend the meeting are eligible to attend. Each individual attending the conference must have paid registration and wear a name badge. The early bird registration deadline is September 1 st at midnight. THERE WILL BE NO REGISTRATION REFUNDS UNLESS EXTENUATING CIRCUMSTANCES ARISE. We recommend a ratio of one adult for every twelve members. Male chaperones are REQUIRED for all male students lodging the night before. You may pair up with another chapter to ensure that your male students have a male chaperone in their cabin. Lodging will be available for those chapters who wish to arrive early. The lodging fee does not include any other additional meals. All lodging assignments will be made by Dry Creek Retreat Center. Linens will not be provided. Please supply your own twin sheets, blanket/comforter or sleeping bag, pillow, and towels. 3 ADDITIONAL FEES: DRESS CODE: If your students are interested in participating in the high ropes course challenge, please contact Matthew Savoy at There are a limited number of spots available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Members should arrive in school-approved apparel with khaki shorts/pants/capris and tennis shoes. Upon arrival, members will have a window of time to change into the conference t-shirt provided. No jeans or khakis with holes will be tolerated. The state leadership team will make the final determination in all cases. Faith House, founded in 1980 by Sister Mary Thomas as a domestic violence crisis center and shelter, has been serving survivors of domestic abuse for over thirtyfive years throughout seven parishes in central and south Louisiana. Financial and in-kind donations fuel Faith House and provide support to survivors. The Louisiana Family, Career and Community Leaders of America will be collecting both financial and in-kind donations at the state leadership conference to support the Faith House of Acadiana. More information regarding the supply drive time and location will be distributed at a later date. If your

Those chapters who contribute to our state outreach project will receive on-stage recognition at the state leadership conference with a certificate of our appreciation. Thank you in advance. MEMBERSHIP CAMPAIGN Our Vice President of Membership, Australia Williams, in agreement with the state executive council, has established the following goal as the Louisiana Family, Career and Community Leaders of America Membership Campaign. Our goal is to motivate each affiliated chapter to increase membership while encouraging other local (non-affiliated) schools to begin a new chapter. CAMPAIGN: NEW CHAPTERS: For those chapters with an increase in membership of at least ten percent, each chapter will receive a token of our appreciation. For those advisers who recruit a new chapter, each adviser will receive a large gift basket with hundreds of dollars in rewards. Together we can grow! If you are interested in starting a new chapter in your school or district, please contact the state leadership team at leadership@lafcclainc.org for more information. Membership kits and assistance can be provided at your request. ALUMNI RELATIONS CAMPAIGN For generations, our organization has provided members with unlimited opportunities to develop into the individual they aspire to become. Our state theme, Generations of Leadership: Past, Present, Future, focuses on individuals whom have done just that. We are seeking any and all information which may lead to the successful contact of alumni for a special project at the state leadership conference. If you have any information and are willing to aid us in our efforts, please contact msavoy@lafcclainc.org. We would also like to thank the following individuals for their overwhelming support and dedication: Ms. Breanna Guidry, Mr. Clay Troutman, and Ms. Abigail Welch. Together, their passion for Family and Consumer Sciences is unmatched. Thank you for volunteering your time and effort to ensure a successful foundation remains for generations to come. PUBLIC RELATIONS CAMPAIGN We ask that all advisers, chaperones, and members submit images from throughout the upcoming year to be featured on our social media, website, local news outlets, and the state leadership conference. The chapter with the most submissions will be granted a special gift at the state leadership conference in March.
