1 Program Calendar April through June 2015 Artwork by Don Schmidt Welcome to the Fellowship Place Program Calendar! Fellowship Place helps adults who have a mental illness lead more meaningful, fulfilling and healthy lives by offering resources, education and opportunities.

2 Fellowship Place Main Number: (203) ext for the Clubhouse Website: Fellowship Place Clubhouse hours: Monday Tuesday-Friday Saturday, Sunday and Holidays 9:00AM-8:00PM 9:00AM-6:00PM 10:00AM-1:30 PM GUIDELINES AND GENERAL INFORMATION HEALTHY MEAL INITIATIVE Fellowship provides our members with free daily meals to promote a healthy, balanced life and diet. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served Monday through Friday and lunch is served on Saturday and Sunday. Signing up for Meals is required Monday through Friday. No reservations are needed for the weekend. Please sign up for Lunch by 10 am and for Dinner by 12pm, Monday-Friday. Members without a reservation may purchase a meal for $2.00 if food is available. Member donations are appreciated to help with the cost of the healthy meals program. Members can now call and leave a voic message with their meal reservation at (203) ext WELCOME DESK The welcome desk is the first stop when entering Fellowship in order to sign in and learn about the day s activities by picking up a copy of The Daily Focus. Wednesday April 22 nd from 1-3pm Field trip to Yale Marsh Botanical Gardens Yale Marsh Botanical Garden sits on eight acres of land, has six greenhouses with many beautiful plants that attract local birds and insects. The garden is a very informative and eye-catching experience for visitors! MAY IS MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS MONTH! Mental Health Awareness Open House Wednesday May 6 th 4:30-6:30pm Open to Natural Supports, Members in all programs and the Community, Staff will provide information about mental health and the very rich programming that Fellowship Place offers. Art from the ArtShip Program will be for sale as well! Mental Health Awareness Month Movie Matinees Every Friday in May our weekly movie matinees will be centered around Mental Health Awareness. Come and join us every Friday at 2pm in the clubhouse and watch these wonderful selections: Friday May 1 st Little Miss Sunshine Friday May 8 th Girl, Interrupted Friday May 15 th A Beautiful Mind Friday May 22 nd Silver Linings Playbook Friday May 29 th Matchstick Men Mental Health Awareness Reading List This reading list,composited by Naomi highlights a list of memoirs written by people who have mental illness and chronicles experiences from a wide variety of diagnoses and writing styles. If you are interested in obtaining this reading list, please see Naomi. 4 Members Helping Members Presentation Wednesday May am Come hear members speak about their participation in a closed group related to common experiences of people living with mental illness. Health Group with Wanda Friday May 15 1:30pm Discussion: How to manage Stress/Anxiety Facilitator will discuss what causes stress, how to identify stress/ anxiety and how to manage it. Hearing Voices Presentation Wednesday May am Raising awareness about voice hearing, visions, and other unusual or extreme experiences. Supporting anyone who has had these experiences by providing opportunities to talk about them freely and without judgment amongst peers. Career Development Panel Discussion Tuesday May am Come hear from Young Adults who have gone back to work or school to find out how they overcame challenges and found success! CT Legal Rights Presentation Thursday May am Legal Rights Representative will be here to speak about Mental Health services including accessing services, active participation, denial of service and culturally competent services. Zumba Tuesdays from 10am-11am Come join a Zumba Instructor in a fun workout to make your body healthy for the summer! Attend on the following dates: April 7 th May 5 th June 2 nd

5 In-House Art Show 1pm in the Art room View the art of a featured Fellowship artist! Snacks and refreshments will be provided. Attend on the following dates: April 15 th May 27 th Food Film Series 1x per month on Wednesdays 1:45-3:30 in Large McDowell Would you like to be part of Fellowship Place s Healthy Eating Initiative? Come join us for our Food Film Series and learn about nutrition and creating a healthier life style. Healthy snacks will be provided! The films will be shown on the following dates: April 22 nd May 5 th June 24 th Poetry Jam in the Art Room at 1pm Wednesday June 24 1pm in the Art Room Do you like to write, listen to or read poetry? If you do, the poetry jam is just the place for you! For members that would like to participate in this event, please sign up in the art room by Friday 6/19. Infinity Music Therapy Wednesdays from 11am to 12pm in the Clubhouse The therapist at Infinity Music Therapy believes in a creative and innovative approach to therapy that reaches beyond the therapeutic use of instruments and song to include other sensory based mediums, visual aids, and more to encourage active participation and growth. Join them on the following dates: April 1 st May 6 th June 3 rd

6 Basic Computer Classes Current Learning Opportunities at Fellowship Classes are taught by Literacy Volunteer computer teachers. Classes include learning computer basics, keyboarding, creating a word document, and setting up an address. Registration required. See your staff advisor to sign up. Classes to take place on: Mondays 10:00-12:00 Computer Learning Center Education Support Group Come meet with other peers who are attending school for camaraderie and support. Members of the Graduate Club can participate in activities in the community while making friends with others who are in a similar place in their recovery. All group activities meet and leave from the Clubhouse Main Room. Young Adults The Young Adult Program at Fellowship Place offers a unique space for young people, ages 18 to 25, with mental illness to gather, socialize and learn the skills necessary to be successful in adulthood.
