1 Napa Fire Update 10/14/ am held at EOS (emergency operations center) Supervisor Belia Ramos it is a very good day for Napa county 44% Tubbs Atlas 45% Nunns 10% containment includes several fires We do not anticipate new evacuations in Napa County There is still chance of significant wind activity through this evening NIXEL County web site Radio at 99.3 FM keep updated County assessing damage Identifying those structures that have been damaged or destroyed More to come on that Chief Barry Bierman update on fire activity Napa The wind did not make it as strong as predicted in the valley floor or ridges We are still not out of the woods Red flag condition Atlas peak fire looking really good right now We are continuing to mop up Very little movement of that fire 50,000 acres one area Rector Reservoir Area near Silverado trail - making great progress on this rest of fire looking very good Nunn fire under management team 1 continues to be a problem Very tough morning But on our side of it off of Hwy 29 We have pockets burning in dry creek We are actively putting line in This is our next priority for stopping the advancement of the fire We can t get into that area now Dry creek road is one of our holding lines We are building indirect lines Fire will come down 1
2 This will become our primary line Just because fire is coming down the mountain That may not be the place we can control the fire permanently We are getting it to the place where we can control fire Calistoga On Napa side doing well Staying in its current box Problems on Santa Rosa side though John Robertson Napa County Sherriff 224 reports missing have located confirmed deaths investigating 74 people if you called in missing person, and have found them call us and update if you have found them our thoughts and prayers go to our community Dr Caroline County health officer On Friday, hazardous waste materials leading to health emergency This is administrative action to help bring more resources into the community This is NOT a new emergency Debris from burned buildings can contain hazardous materials This proclamation helps prevent public health problems from disposable debris Public should not attempt to clean up fire related debris The ashes contain toxic material Chris Childs Napa CHP commander Want to thank the community at large of Napa You continue to impress 1 st responders Road closures continue No escorts up Monticello road or on 128 between 121 and Knoxville Beryessa 2
