REPORTS FROM SPECIAL SERVICES Office See attached Larry to distribute pamphlets on verification of meeting attendance Larry will be on leave 14 Dec 14 Jan Archives Sharon thanked Area for the donation of Grapevine books to the archive We still need group histories and updates Correctional Facilities List of CF contacts is being distributed Literature Joe P Larry Sharon John Larry Treatment Facilities Gavin is collecting contact information (for GSO position) and will submit a report CPC/PIC It was agreed that we will contribute to transport costs for unemployed members who help with PI Here's the report of the 2 PIC's that took place under the Katlehong area. On the 25th October there was PIC at 333 Dienst street, Mitak company in Alrode. There was staff members/employees that attended the PIC, HR representative there was Miss Portia. The company pleaded and arranged that this PIC be continued for 6 coming weeks. Alcohol at this company is massive factor of dismissal. PIC went very well, take note that this first group of 62 employees are all on final warning due to being above the normal alcohol limit. We had assistance from the Soweto group, we would appreciate all the assistance we can get from other groups in the East Rand and the Area. Our group is fairly small and most members don't work. As a result its challenging for us to make it at such PIC events. Then on the 26th October there was another PIC event at Greenfield primary school which was hosted by Bokamoso events, that PIC also went very well. Thank you bro Larry for always coming through for us when we shout for your assistance with literature and other needs. That would be all for now, I hope that the above is in order. Jah bless. Yours in service Benni 9. Vacancies and Appointments Area Vacancies: Alternate Delegate Colin/ Area

Suggest that we increase our Big book and 12 & 12 stock levels. PI Actonville annual wellness day Another good year with participation from 6 AA members Katlehong Group: 2 events one at a company and a school. Please see Benni report. Benni looking for help from other groups. PI- request from ENCA for and interview passed on the GSO Archives: Sharon Elected as new Archivist. Congratulations. Delegates Report Benni- Delgates Report November 2018 Good morning Honorable Office Kindly find here under written the previous period delegates report, Bra Anil and I "Benni" haven't received any challenges from the groups by far. On the previous Area meeting there was a request raised by one of the groups concerning advertising of the memorial of people who has since passed on, on the Eastrander website. That suggestion has been reverted back to the groups for group discussions for AA members to voice out their feelings on the matter. After the groups has voiced out their concerns, their feelings will then be taken to the area to asses the overall outcome. Thus far we haven't received any invitation from any group to see if there's a way we can assist each other in any challenges that groups could be facing. We are yet to continue visiting the rest of the groups we hadn't visited as yet. Thank you for allowing me to be a trusted servant and be of service, Jah bless. 7 The world service farewell dinner banquet was held on Thursday 11 October. It was a blast. It was amazing to see how Alcoholics from all over the world could have fun. The World service meeting was a huge success with 72 delegates from 45 countries represented. It was also amazing to hear that members of the KZN fellowship took almost 2 weeks off from work to prepare and host the world service meeting. That is dedication at the very best. It was good to hear all visiting WSM delegates singing the praises of the Local organising committee and how they were made to feel at home. Members dug deep into their own pockets to make this event a success. Everything from Drop Off to Pick-up, Tours and accommodation was taken care off by the LOC. Well done KZN AA. You put South Africa on the AA World map. The board meeting was held on Friday 12 December in Durban Two new trustees were welcomed by the Chairman being Henning from Central Region and Jason from KZN. Five WSM delegates attended as observers including Mary C World Service Meeting Coordinator GSO US/Canada. It was disturbing to hear that SAYPAA had disbanded. They arranged activities for young people who need new friends and social activities when they become sober. Helga and John were asked to follow-up SAYPAA. The Chairman of the board would send out a letter regarding personal pledges to the fellowship. The Grapevine literature problem experienced in South Africa was discussed with Greg (US/Canada) who offered to help in speaking to Grapevine management on our behalf. The following board vacancies will be advertised as Helga CPC/PI Trustee and Frank G Finance/IT rotate out in May Anil TF/CF rotates out in January Prospective Class A trustees were interviewed by Sundil, Varosh and Frank. The Board unanimously accepted the proposed candidate. Helga will sponsor the new Class A Trustee. GSO Chairman requested Regional Trustees to report on number of visitors attending community rallies. I have already reported on these figures based on the last three rallies held in the NP area since conference. Frank G explained how the Pretoria Helpline works. Other areas and GSO very interested in the concept. Well done Pretoria. Chairman of the Board and new TF/CF will be responsible for the draft guidelines on interaction with treatment facilities. Mary advised that there is service material on this subject. South African service manual to be amended to suit South Africa. Frank G with 3 other board members have been allocated this project. The 12 concepts will also be amended to suit South Africa. SIG Survey. Only 500 responses received mainly by people already in Service. The response deadline has been extended to 31 December Please pass on message on SIG to members in individual groups. The Board approved a project to speak to Trade Unions so that they could be informed on what AA does. Pretoria Area Assembly to allocate GSO payments to individual groups. The payments on GSO s accounting system is recorded by individual group.
