JULY INSTITUTE OF APPLIED BEHAVIORAL ANALYSIS: 24TH ANNUAL TWO-WEEK SUMMER INSTITUTE July 22- August 3, 2012 This advanced, competency-based training practicum is appropriate for psychologists, behavioral consultants, resource specialists and other qualified professionals charged with assessing individuals who exhibit severe and challenging behavior and with designing behavior support plans based on a functional analysis of behavior. SERVICE PROVIDER TRAINING: WRITING YOUR AGENCY EMERGENCY OPERATIONS PLAN PART II November 30, 2012, 9:00-12:00 pm Free! Emergency Network of Los Angeles will assist
8 providers in how to develop an operating plan for your agency in the event of a disaster. This is a follow up course to Part I (offered in 2011 and spring of 2012.) New ELARC Agency Hours Starting in July: The sustained budgetary cuts to the ELARC budget has resulted in a revised operation schedule. Please note that effective July 5, 2011, the agency hours of operation will be reduced. Every Friday the agency operating hours will be from 8:00 A.M- 2:00 P.M Parking Fees at ELARC: Parking tickets will be validated for consumers, families, and vendors that have scheduled appointments and meetings. Please remember to bring your parking ticket with you during your scheduled visit at ELARC for validation. Training/Events: This E-T&E Notice informs families, consumers, service providers, and others of opportunities for information and trainings sponsored by ELARC and other agencies. All ELARC trainings and events are subject to change without notice. For confirmation of dates or for additional information regarding any training or event in this Notice should be addressed to the individual or agency listed in the course description. Service Provider General Information... Location: All ELARC training sessions are conducted at the ELARC Boardroom located in the lower level of building A2 in the campus of The Alhambra at 1000 S. Fremont Ave., Alhambra, CA (unless otherwise indicated). On-site parking is very limited, so early arrival is strongly suggested. Parking will be validated and free for training participants. Training Time: All ELARC Trainings are from 9:30 11:30 a.m., unless otherwise noted. Pre-Registration is Required for All Training Sessions: Participants must pre-register by completing and mailing the registration form and check to ELARC P.O. Box 7916, Alhambra, Ca , attention:
9 Manuel S. Garcia, Community Services Department. Pre-registration forms and checks accepted until one week prior to training day. Registration will be confirmed via unless contacted by ELARC due to session being filled. No on-site registration, unless otherwise indicated. Due to unforeseen regional center mandates, the training schedule is subject to change. A training flyer will be mailed to each provider with provider claim form approximately three (3) weeks in advance of each training session that has been confirmed. Provider Training Fee: There is a fee for all ELARC trainings classes. Please refer to the class description for the exact fee per participant per training class. Checks payable to ELARC only will be accepted. Exception: Checks for Person Center Thinking classes are to be made payable to Joe Donofrio, Natural Pathway. Class registration will not be accepted until check is received. Checks and registration form must be received one week prior to the training session. No refunds except in case class is canceled or check is received after class is sold out (checks will be returned uncashed). Registration are transferable to other persons, but not to future trainings. Training Certificates: A training certificate will be issued to ELARC providers. Participants must arrive punctually, but no more than 20 minutes late and attend entire session to ensure receipt of a training certificate. Training certificates will be given at the end of the training session. Behavior Intervention Services Forum The Community Services unit is pleased to host regular forums for behavior interventions service providers. The forums are specifically planned to address their unique service issues. The forums are also an opportunity for service providers to meet with regional center community services, consumers, and families. Date and location to be arranged. The Forum will be an on-going opportunity for service providers, individual community partners and Regional Center, to continue working in partnership. The forum is scheduled threes time a year.
