Proposed New Groups

Information from Chris Chater Groups Co-ordinator Suggestions have been made for the following groups listed below. If you are interested in facilitating or joining, please contact Beeston U3A Group Coordinator or telephone [do not hesitate to leave a message]

New Group - Astronomy Astronomy is one of the oldest physical sciences. The night sky and its array of stars, wandering planets, changing moon phases, occasional comets and meteor showers, and in far northern and southern latitudes, shimmering auroras, have fascinated mankind and stimulated the imagination of generations. We are looking for member[s] to run the above group

5th Book Group The initial meeting of the 5th Book Group took place on Monday 3rd July 2017 but, if you are still interested in joining the group, please contact Beeston U3A Group Coordinator or telephone [do not hesitate to leave a message]

2nd Medium Walks Group Two initial meetings of the 2nd Medium Walk Group have taken place. The decision by the group was made to be a self-motivated group and that members should lead/organise at least one walk during the year. Up to date we have 4 members who have offered to lead a walk. We are looking for at least 2 more before the group can move forward. If you are interested in joining/leading a walk, please contact Beeston U3A Group Coordinator johnchater1@sky.com or telephone [do not hesitate to leave a message]

Beginner Recorder Group Due to members commitments during the Summer months, the initial meeting for the group is being delayed till September when I will contact those that are interested to arrange a meeting. Within the group there is a member who is willing to share her knowledge of the recorder. If you are interested in joining, please contact Beeston U3A Group Coordinator johnchater1@sky.com or telephone [do not hesitate to leave a message]

BEESTON U3A NEEDS YOUR HELP!

Beeston U3A Needs You Without willing volunteers our U3A would not be so successful. If you have benefited from the work of our Group Leaders please consider becoming one yourself.

Links to Local Universities Please help us to establish links with Nottingham Trent University. They have asked us to help with 3 projects: engaging the older shopper in the grocery shopping experience, fashion for ladies over 55 and clothing for people living with raynauds, diabetes, or arthritis. If you would like to be involved, further details are on our website beestonu3a.org.uk, or from Steve Austin by stephen.austin@ntlworld.com
