1 Alta Murrieta PTA Pursuing Excellence Dear Alta Murrieta Families, The Alta Murrieta Elementary Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) would like to welcome you to the school year! If you are unfamiliar with us, we are a volunteer organization made up of parents, teachers, administrators, and support staff who are dedicated to the successful education of our children. The Alta PTA works hard to help make the school year both enjoyable and exciting for students, teachers, and parents. The purpose of the Alta PTA is to aid the students and staff by providing support for educational and recreational needs, to promote open communication between administration, teachers and parents, and to encourage Alta school spirit and pride. Our theme this year is, MAGIC, Moms and dads of Alta Getting together In support of our Children. And will be represented by a Magicians hat. We look forward to meeting you, whether you are a parent, grandparent, relative, or community member that would like to get involved with our PTA this school year. We invite you to not only join our organization, but to get involved as well! Everything we do is based on volunteers, and we always look for those of you who want to make a difference in the lives of our children. If you are able to give some time, either daytime or evenings, we invite you to join us! We welcome all volunteers! Many hands make the job easier. The PTA meets periodically throughout the school year to discuss events, plan fundraisers to enhance all programs, and share ideas. This is a great way to find out what is happening at our school. Our first PTA meeting will be in August, the first week back to school. We invite you to join us! Subsequent PTA meetings are planned for February and April. We will provide more information about the agenda before each meeting. Please join us! Every meeting gives you a chance to ask questions, make suggestions, meet and talk with other parents and hear important information about what is happening at Alta Murrieta and our community. We believe that our most important mission is to do everything we can to enhance the learning environment of our children, as they truly are our future. Our theme this year: MAGIC Moms and dads of Alta Get together In support of the Children Membership in the Alta Murrieta PTA is open to everyone parents, grandparents, relatives, friends, community members who believe that education is important. Joining the PTA does not mean we are going to call you for every event and ask for help, although we invite you to volunteer and participate. It does not mean we will flood your inbox with information. And although you are invited to attend, your presence isn t required at our meetings. 4 PTA MEMBERSHIP DRIVE CONTEST CLASS COMPETITION (TK-2 nd grade) (3 rd grade-5 th grade) (SDC classes) The class with the MOST members in each category will receive a class party. EVERYONE S A MEMBER! The FIRST class in the school to have 100% class membership, including the teacher, will win a PTA PIZZA GLOW PARTY! A coupon from one of our local family fun centers, and the teacher will also receive a Abracadabra School Supply Basket! MAGIC HAT OPPORTUNITY DRAWING Your student will also be entered into our Black Magic Hat and at the end of the membership drive Mr. Coley will draw 5 lucky students who will receive a special prize! Each member & immediate family members will also get FREE entry to Alta's very 1 st Magic Show! 7 Spirit Fridays at Alta Murrieta Elementary! Calling all Alta Murrieta students! Spirit Fridays at Alta Murrieta! Show your school spirit by wearing your Alta Murrieta t-shirt or school colors on Fridays! On selected Fridays students showing their Alta pride will be rewarded with a token of appreciation! All you need is a top that is blue, black, white or gray. It can be solid, striped, polka dotted or tie-dyed as long as it is only contains school colors. If the top has words other than Alta Murrieta or characters/logos other than our Mustang, then it is not eligible for a prize. Exceptions would be any Alta Murrieta group with their own top (ex.
