3 ABOUT WALK FOR WISHES Walk For Wishes, benefiting Make-A-Wish Oregon, celebrates the more than 3,500 local wishes that have already been granted, while raising funds for future wishes. It is a family-friendly event powered by wish families, volunteers, sponsors, donors and community members. Locally, Make-A-Wish grants wishes for children with life-threatening medical conditions living in Oregon and Clark County, Washington. Our goal is to grant 250 wishes this year - the most ever in our chapter s history - and we need YOUR help. You can take the first step in making these wishes come true by becoming an event sponsor. We have teamed up with the Oregon Zoo for a fun-filled event that includes activities, wish inspiration and prizes. Beginning and ending inside the zoo at the North Meadow Terrace, you and your employees can enjoy a behind-the-scenes walk through the zoo all while making a difference in the lives of local children, many of whom you will get to meet at the event. Walk For Wishes is superhero themed to honor the courage and strength of our Wish Hero wish kids who will be in attendance. Take part in the fun theme and come wearing your favorite superhero costume. BRAND ALIGNMENT AND IMPACT More than 200 kids are currently waiting for their wishes to come true. 4 About Make-A-Wish Oregon WHAT TYPES OF WISHES ARE GRANTED? Make-A-Wish Oregon provides unparalleled wishes as imaginative as the children who dream them. Most wishes tend to fall into one of the following four categories. I wish to go... I wish to have... I wish to meet... I wish to be... WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE A WISH? Before a wish can be granted, three criteria must be met: l The child must be between the ages of 2½ and 18 years old. l The child s physician must medically qualify the child. l The child must not have received a previous wish from Make-A-Wish or any other wish-granting organization.
