2 From the Co-leaders: Fall is here! We ve got a lot of excitement coming up in October! Grab a friend & volunteer for a trunk or treat event in our community. Join us at the Board meeting, grab a bite to eat & help us decide where our extra money will go. Consider running for a position on the Board. (We are in need of a Co-leader! Read more about it in this newsletter!) Spread the word about our New Member Open House coming up. There is no shortage of ways to get involved this month! 4 Trunk or Treat Events All of our volunteer slots are filled for the Montgomery Police Department Halloween Safety event on Sunday October 14th. Thank you to those who volunteered! We still are in need of volunteers for the Nicholson Elementary Trunk or Treat event on October 20th. Nicholson is in downtown Montgomery in District 129. Convince a friend to volunteer with you! It d be great if we could have two volunteers each hour from 10-2 to help hand out candy. We also need someone to supply the TRUNK for the event! You would park your car there from approx. 9am-2:30pm. Please consider and contact Vicki or Grace if you are interested.

5 October Board Meeting Agenda Join us at the October Board meeting where we ll be voting for new Board Members as well as deciding where the excess funds that we have will go. We have someone running for all positions EXCEPT Co-leader. We really need someone to fill this position in order for our group to continue to run. For this position, you would be working with Nicole F. Co-Leaders are in charge of the Board meeting agendas, leading the meetings, running Secret Sister, the monthly newsletter and settling any disagreements between members. If you re currently involved in Secret Sister, don t worry, we work around this! Also, Nicole loves doing the newsletter so that s taken care of for the next 6 months! (Unless you really want to take it over!) Please consider joining us! It is vital that we have our positions filled. All members are welcome at all meetings. Feel free to reach out & ask questions to any of our Board Members! s are all listed at the end of the newsletter. Board Meetings are held monthly at Oswego Tap House and starts at 7:00pm. We order some drinks/food and then start on our agenda. Most often we are done by 8:30pm.

7 Fall Open House The Open House Committee is hard at work planning this year s Open House. Stop by anytime from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, at Fox Valley Winery, 5600 US-34 in Oswego. Light snacks and desserts will be served along with FREE wine samples. Unlike previous Open House events, we re skipping the set program/agenda and creating more of a drop-in event allowing guests and members to come and go throughout the evening. Open House is our biggest membership drive of the year and we need YOUR HELP to make it a successful event. As our thank you for your contributions, we re launching an Open House Member Engagement Challenge for a chance to win prizes just by getting the word out on Open House and/or helping the day of the event. And as a bonus, any activity marked with an asterisk, on the next page, also counts toward your Give 3 for volunteering!!

8 Open House Member Engagement Challenge Post the digital flyer on your personal FB page as well as in other groups (ex. other moms groups, neighborhood page, etc.) Distribute the flyer (watch for an with the PDF) Donate food for the event (watch for the SignUp Genius)* Donate prizes for event (watch for the SignUp Genius)* Attend event Bring a guest to the event Volunteer as a club board speaker at the event* Give a brief testimonial about what Moms & More means to you* **Contact co-chairs Vicki or Grace if you have questions or to volunteer at the event!**

11 Thank you from the Care Coordinator Thank you for helping to support Kari D. and her family as they grieve the passing of Kari s beloved Mother-In- Law. Heather M. Jenna S. Jennifer G.

12 Community Outreach: Pop Tops Moms and More is collecting pop tops as a community outreach project. We will be donating the pop tops in May to the Ronald McDonald House at Elmhurst Hospital. Please collect them at home and we will have a collection drop off time scheduled in late April.

13 Community Outreach: Fleece Tie Blankets Just a reminder that we will be donating fleece tie blankets to the Ronald McDonald House at Edward Hospital. We are asking for donations of fleece (2 yards x 2 yards) and time to make the blankets. We have a blanket-making night on November 3rd! Keep an eye out for sales on fleece! RMH has requested fleece fabrics that teenage patients would like. We need 2 two yard pieces to make one blanket. If you can t make it to the making night, you are welcome to make the blanket(s) at home and Jen K can make arrangements to get them from you. Donating fleece & making a blanket both count toward Give 3 in the community outreach category!

14 Community Outreach: Sunnymere Garden Our garden season has come to an end. Thank you to all the moms that took time out to water and harvest the garden. A HUGE thanks to Melanie McAllister for going above and beyond! Your hard work didn't go unnoticed.
