4 EXTRACTS FROM BRAZILIAN BIODIVERSITY Extract Oil Butter REMINERALISING BRAZIL NUT The CASTANHA DO PARA, one of the oldest and largest trees of the Amazon forest belonging to the Lecythidaceae family, reaches up to 50 m in height. The oil is highly nutritious and extracted by cold compression of the nuts, which have a 67% concentration of essential fatty acids as well as mineral salts, notably selenium, proteins (excelsina), vitamin A, B, C and E. It makes the skin infinitely soft, maintains texture and prevents dryness. It also performs miracles on the hair by restoring shine and a silky texture. INCI name: Bertholletia Excels Seed Oil CUPUACU Native to the Amazon forest in northern Brazil, the CUPUAÇU produces a tropical fruit that is full of vitamin A, C, B1, B2 and B3, proteins, lipids and minerals (iron, calcium and phosphorus). Cupuaçu butter, remineralising and nutritious, is a triglyceride with a balance of saturated and unsaturated fatty acids that melt quickly when in contact with the skin. They render the skin soft and supple, and preserve elasticity and hydration. Its phytosterols restore the lipid balance of the skin and hair. INCI name: Theobroma Grandiflorum Seed Butter STIMULANT GUARANA This Amazonian shrub from the Sapindaceae family produces seeds that contain the highest concentration of caffeine. They are also rich in tannins, saponin, phosphate, theobromine, phosphorous, potassium Highly stimulating and toning, they encourage microcirculation and vasodilation, therefore the elimination of cellulite. INCI name: Paullinia Cupana Seed Extract HYDRATANT MARACUJA Passiflora This tropical passion fruit from southern Brazil contains pips that are used to make an oil that is particularly rich in Omega 6. A source of vitamin A, B and C, minerals (iron, sodium, calcium and phosphorous), flavonoids and tannins, it hydrates the skin, leaving it soft, supple, soothed and fresh. INCI name: Passiflora Edulis Fruit Extract ELASTICITY MURUMURU A highly emollient butter is produced from this large palm, native to the Amazon forest. Rich in lauric, myristic and oleic acid, as well as vitamin A and C, and Omega 3, 6 and 9, it hydrates the epidermis, restoring elasticity, softness and suppleness. It has a real conditioning effect on hair. INCI name: Astrocaryum Murumuru Seed Butter PRACAXI This plant, grown in northern Brazil, produces a fruit that has a high concentration of behenic acid: 19%, which is 6 times more than the peanut. Its revitalizing oil is highly effective at restoring the elasticity of the skin and combating the appearance of stretch marks. It adds shine to hair and reduces hair loss. INCI name: Pentaclethra Macroloba Seed Oil ANTIOXIDANT URUCUM Urucum, the fruit of the Urucueiro, is extremely high in carotenoids, Beta-carotene, flavonoids and vitamin C. Its oil prepares the skin for sun exposure, protects against UV rays and fights against free radicals. Easily absorbed thanks to its high content of unsaturated fatty acids, it encourages the skin s respiration and reduces blackheads and enlarged pores. INCI name: Bixa Orellana Seed Oil
