3 Introduction and Methodology As part of NeSCC s institutional effectiveness process to continuously improve the College, NeSCC administered the 2019 Spring Convocation Evaluation Survey to all NeSCC employees. The instrument (See Appendix A) was designed to 1. measure the satisfaction level of attendees at the 2019 Spring Convocation and 2. receive suggestions on how improvements can be made for future convocation events. The survey was completely anonymous and no response was required for any question. Responses were scored on a scale of 1-5 with 1 being the lowest (Very Dissatisfied) and 5 being the highest (Very Satisfied). Participants had the option to select Not Applicable and could opt out of adding comments. In the tables below the Missing category includes counts for a response of Not Applicable/No Opinion combined with items that were not answered which are labeled Left Blank. The total counts were adjusted to exclude these categories for the calculation of averages and valid percentages of the responses. Convocation took place the morning of January 7, 2019 from 9 till 9:30 am. The evaluation instrument was launched via an on Wednesday, January 9: 3

4 A reminder was sent on Friday, January 11 and the survey closed on Monday, January 14th. The survey was separated into five sections as follows: Student Success Story, Welcome and Remarks of the President, Financial Update, Employee Recognition, and Overall Satisfaction. See Appendix A for the full instrument. Summary of Results A total of 121 individual respondents provided a total of 604 ratings of the event. Very Satisfied was the highest frequency response on every question. Dissatisfied was the lowest frequency response on every question. An overwhelming majority of respondents (94.6%) provided positive responses (Very Satisfied or Satisfied) to all questions. Of the total 604 ratings, 90.1% were positive, 4.8% were neutral, and 3.5% were negative. o When comparing decidedly satisfied to dissatisfied responses (excluding neutral, N/A and omitted responses) 96% were satisfied and 4% were dissatisfied. The mean (average) rating for every question was greater than 4.3 on a 5 point scale. The overall mean (average) rating for all questions combined was 4.47 on a 5 point scale. Remarks of the President received the highest favorable ratings (4.51). The Employee Recognition Ceremony received the lowest rating (4.36), which is still very positive. The highest dissatisfied frequency (Very Dissatisfied or Dissatisfied) for any question was five. 4

5 Frequency of Survey Responses The Adjusted Total figures in the table below were calculated by excluding the Neither Satisfied nor Dissatisfied (neutral) and the Not Applicable/No Opinion and Left Blank counts to provide a clearer comparison of the respondents that were decidedly satisfied (Very Satisfied and Satisfied) versus those that were decidedly dissatisfied (Very Dissatisfied and Dissatisfied).
