4 The January 22, 2016 WATCH coalition meeting was our Annual Volunteer Recognition meeting. Members took time to express what they love about participating in WATCH and what they were proud of helping the coalition accomplish in the past year. 11 You are invited to attend our February workshop Strengthening the bridge between parents and providers FREE CEUs provided In order for a child with mental health challenges to receive the best possible care, it s necessary to have a trusting relationship between the parent and provider. This workshop will feature a panel discussion and participants will discuss the benefits of providers and families working together, as well as how to strengthen those relationships. Panelists include: Lisa Elliott, Ph.D., moderator, licensed psychologist and clinic manager, Cook Children s Medical Center The Honorable Kimberly McCary, County Court at Law Number One, Denton County Jason and Ann York, Skelton, Thomason and York Educational Consulting Laura Adams, parent advocate Mike and Kathy Conduff, parent advocates Ray and Susan Croff, parent advocates 12 to 3 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, 2016 Cumberland Presbyterian Children s Home Lela Stricklen Hall 1304 Bernard St. Denton, TX The event is free and lunch will be provided. Register at watchdenton.org Cook Children s Medical Center is approved as a provider of continuing education for Licensed Professional Counselors by the LPC Board of Examiners for the State of Texas (Provider #1022) and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapists by the LMFT Board of Examiners for the State of Texas (Provider #385). These approvals meet the criteria for mandatory continuing education requirements toward relicensure as established by the individual Boards of Examiners for the State of Texas. Cook Children s Medical Center designates this activity for a maximum of 3.0 contact hours (0.3 CEU). Cook Children s is approved as a provider of continuing education for Social Workers by the Texas Board of Social Work Examiners (Provider #5164). This activity is designated for a maximum of 3.0 Social Worker contact hours.
