The purpose of this symposium is to improve cardiovascular patient outcomes. This course will help the regional physician, nurse or allied healthcare provider identify new treatment modalities for the cardiovascular patient and to evaluate the collaborative efforts of multidisciplinary professionals necessary for successful STEMI programs. At the conclusion of this activity, participants should be able to: Evaluate the evidence for use of multi-vessel angioplasty during STEMI Describe the indications for the use of hypothermia in the STEMI setting Assess the advantages and disadvantages to performing PCI without surgical back-up Review the data for advanced transcatheter support in cardiogenic shock, does it support the expense?
