3 Anger Management Course Do you have feelings of anger? Are you Court ordered? We are here to help! The Anger Management course offered through the Helena Indian Alliance will consist of 40 hours of education. The cost of the program is $ $ will be due upon the time of registration and the remaining balance on or before completion of course. Which is non-refundable You may be ordered through the court and also may take the class for your own personal growth to increase understanding and learn better ways to handle anger in a positive way, which can also lead to a more healthier and stress free life. 4 Medicaid update: Everyone can apply for Medicaid any time during the year. Medicaid includes DENTAL and VISION coverage! Due to huge changes, you may be eligible for Medicaid this year even if you weren t eligible in the past. We strongly encourage everyone to apply for the new Medicaid! If you have questions about your current Medicaid status and benefits, you can call the Montana Medicaid Helpline at (888) Assistance is available Monday-Friday 8am-5pm. Affordable Care Act (ACA) update Although Open Enrollment for ACA health insurance is closed, you can apply or make updates anytime if you have a Life Change such as a change in your income, moving, having a baby, getting married or divorced, or getting released from incarceration. If you are a member of a Federally Recognized Tribe, you can apply and make changes to your ACA health insurance once a month, any time during the year. How can you apply for Medicaid and/or Affordable Care Act help in paying for health insurance? 5 DRUG TESTING The Leo Pocha Clinic is excited to now offer enhanced drug screening capabilities through the Millennium Health company. Through this service, our medical providers can test for over 95 different drugs and metabolites for prescription drugs and illicit substances, including emerging substances of abuse such as synthetic cannabinoids (Spice) and cathinone (Bath Salts). These tests are much more sensitive than the point of care tests used in the past, and can provide invaluable clinical data to inform on-going treatment and medication management for patients. Test results are typically obtained within 1-2 days of collection of the urine or saliva sample. A sliding fee scale is utilized for uninsured individuals and financial assistance is available for testing through Millennium Health. The Leo Pocha Clinic serves Native American and non-native patients and accepts private insurance. 6 Montana Clean Indoor Air Act Q&A Q: What is the Montana Clean Indoor Air Act? A: The Clean Indoor Air Act is a Montana state law that requires all enclosed public places and workplaces in Montana to be smoke free as of October 1, Q: Who passed this law? A: The Montana legislature enacted the Montana Clean Indoor Air Act in Q: What is an enclosed public place? A: An enclosed public place means an indoor area, room, or vehicle that the public is allowed to enter or that serves as a place of work. Enclosed public places include but are not limited to bars, casinos, restaurants, stores, public and private offices, health care facilities, public transportation, business vehicles, and public schools. Q: What is a place of work? A: A place of work means an enclosed place where one or more individuals are required to be as part of their job. Q: Are there any exceptions to the law? A: Yes. The law does not apply to: Private residences, unless the residence is used as a day care, an adult foster care home, or a health care facility. Private vehicles. Hotel rooms designated as smoking rooms. Currently, a hotel may designate no more than 35 percent of its rooms as smoking rooms. Sites used in connection with the practice of cultural activities by American Indians in accordance with the American Indian Religious Freedom Act. Q: Why is the Montana Clean Indoor Air Act important? A: The act protects each individual s right to breathe clean air, and it protects public health. In 2006, the U.S. Surgeon General declared, there is no safe level of exposure to secondhand tobacco smoke. Exposure to secondhand smoke causes lung cancer and other fatal and debilitating diseases. It also damages infants and children s health. Smoke free laws like Montana s reduce heart attack incidence by at least 19 percent. Youth interested in GONA we will be having a meeting on May 12 to go over specifics of the camp.
