1 LIONS CLUBS INTERNATIONAL My Service Activities Frostburg (8923) FROSTBURG (8923) Frostburg Lions - Monthly Activity - Summer Lunch Box September 1, 2016 aid to disadvantaged children Frostburg Lions in partnership with AmeriCorps and the Frostburg Summer Lunch Box Program will provided 8,252 lunches to children in the Frostburg, Shaft and Mt. Savage areas of Allegany county, MD. Frostburg Lions provides financial assistance, volunteers, and administrative assistance to the program which runs for 45 days during the summer. Number of Lions: 10 Number of Lion Hours: 40 Number of People Served: 200 Funds Frostburg Lions - Continuing Activity - Assistance To A.L.S. Patient September 1, 2016 aid to the disabled The club will provide up to $200 in assistance to an individual with A.L.S. for some minor home modifications for wheelchair accessibility Number of Lions: 1 Number of Lion Hours: 1 Total Participants: 0 Number of People Served: 1 Number of Hearing Aids Collected: 0 Number of Eyeglasses Collected: 0 Funds Donated: 0 Items Donated: 0 Hours Village Lions - Monthly Activity - Interaction September 1, 2016 aid to the elderly Village Lions Branch Club - provides a positive image for seniors and staff at Frostburg Village, members socialize and visit with patients and staff on a regular basis through the month Number of Lions: 5 Number of Lion Hours: 40 Number of People Served: 120 Funds Frostburg Lions - Ongoing Activity - Box Tops for Education September 1, 2016 assistance to school This is an ongoing activity of Frostburg Lions. We collect Box Tops for Education as part of our "alternative fund raising program". Box Tops are presented to local schools. Our goal is $300 for the year In we collected over $200 for Beall Elementary Page 1 of 9

Our goal this year is 700 lbs of pet food, and $700 in cash is final day of drive. Delivered a car load of supplies, food and money to the ark. Frostburg Lions has contributed $1, since the fire. Number of Lions: 4 Number of Lion Hours: 9 Number of People Served: 100 Funds Donated: 1500 Funds Raised: 1500 Frostburg Lions - Literature Distribution - Emergency Preparedness September 2, 2016 disaster preparedness planning Distribut Emergency Preparedness literature at the Frostburg Farmers Market on Number of Lions: 2 Number of Lion Hours: 4 Total Participants: 100 Funds Donated: 0 Funds Raised: 0 Frostburg Lions - Monthly Activity - Provided Storage For AmeriCorps Book Giveaway September 1, 2016 education / language / literacy / book collection / book distribution (youth) Provide free storage for AneriCorps to store 25 pallets of books and other supplies for the upcoming (April 2017) free book giveaway. We are storing as many as 5,000 childrens books, plus an equal number of adult books, in our Lions building. Donations from lots of Lions for the sale. Typically, volunteers provide respite for the caregiver by staying with the patient while the caregiver is away. 5 Conducted our first meeting of September with 10 Lion present. Discussed numerous project and potential projects. Review of Lions International and accepted 3 new members. Number of Lions: 10 Number of Lion Hours: 20 Frostburg Lions - F.S.U. Campus Lions Meeting September 12, 2016 meetings / club visitations Two Guiding Lions attend the F.S.U. Campus Lions meeting to provide assistance as needed. A discussion of LCI was done and a variety of other items covered. This groups is off to a good start. Two Guiding Lions attended the 2nd meeting of F.S.U. Campus Lions on Number of Lions: 2 Number of Lion Hours: 8 Frostburg Lions - 2nd Regular Meeting September 28, 2016 meetings / club visitations Conducted our second meeting of September with 14 Lions in attendance. Discussed final preparations for Charter Night and Coats for Kids. Several other discussion were held regarding other projects, ideas and etc. yard Sale report - $333. was raised, and we will do it again next year. Provided service every Wednesday morning. The dog absolutely loves it. Campus Lions September 7, 2016 other opportunities for youth Gathered with other Lions at the Frostburg Block Party for a membership drive for the F.S.U. Campus Lions Club. Additionally, assist with administrative support and planning. Number of Lions: 10 Number of Lion Hours: 1 Number of People Served: 300 Funds Donated: 20 Frostburg Lions - Monthly Activity - Recycling September 1, 2016 recycling Lions recycle copier toners, cell phones, ink cartridges and other small electronics. Items are collected, sorted packed and shipped to recyclers around the country. We are recycling copier toners this month. Protecting our Environment campaign Number of Lions: 29 Number of Lion Hours: 6 Number of People Served: 100 Funds Donated: Frostburg Lions - Monthly Activity - Recycling Programs September 1, 2016 recycling All Frostburg Lions participate in a variety of recycling projects and programs. We recycle cans, plastic, office paper, newspapers and cardboard. 100 to 200 lbs of materials are recycled each month. For the first time Frostburg Lions will be participating in this program. We will have the program at the Allegany County Alternative School in Eckhart. More to follow on this great project.
