(ASAPS) The American Society of Plastic Surgery (ASPS) PROGRAM OBJECTIVES At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to: Discuss techniques and best practices for the following surgeries: 1. Oncoplastic surgery for the reconstruction of a breast following partial removal of the breast for breast cancer, 2. Removal of older round breast implants and adjustment of the pocket in order to place new shaped breast implants, 3. Breast lift or mastopexy, 4. Breast reduction surgery Discuss breast reconstruction following breast cancer including oncoplastic surgery and breast reconstruction including tissue expanders, direct to implant reconstruction, latissimus flaps, TRAM flaps, microsurgical SIEA and DIEP Flaps, and nipple reconstruction Assess current trends and techniques in fat grafting to the breast, use of acellular dermal matrix and new synthetic substitutes, and the use of shaped breast implants for breast augmentation and reconstruction. Evaluate a variety of techniques used in aesthetic breast surgery including breast reduction, mastopexy, augmentation, and prevention and correction of complications including rippling and capsular contracture. 13 2016 SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM ACCREDITATION The Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education in order to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons designates this educational activity for a MAXIIMUM OF 18.5 CATEGORY 1 CREDITS toward the AMA Physician s Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those credits that he/she actually spent in the activity. Of the 18.5 credits, 3.10 have been identified as applicable to patient safety. p DISCLOSURE POLICY As a provider accredited by the ACCME, SESPRS must ensure balance, independence, objectivity and scientific rigor in all its individually sponsored or jointly sponsored educational activities. Presenters are required to disclose all relevant financial relationships with commercial interests, and these disclosures will be announced to the audience verbally and via slides. If a speaker fails to make a disclosure, that speaker is precluded from making a presentation at the meeting. Additionally, if any unapproved or off-label use of a product is to be referenced in a CME program presentation, the faculty member/participant is required to disclose that the product is either investigational or it is not labeled for the usage being discussed. SESPRS shall convey any information disclosed by the faculty member/participant to the CME program audience prior to the activity. Physicians in their first and second year after residency are eligible for the New Physician rate. Physicians who have more than two years of practice and are not members of SESPRS/ASPS/ASAPS/ISAPS are eligible for Guest Physician rates. The registration fee for a spouse/companion includes admittance to meals and social functions. Spouses/ companions wishing to attend the symposium presentations must register under the Office Personnel or Nurse category. Please register early.
