Name: Hour: Body Systems Overview & Review In order to compare the frog systems to the human body systems, we need to have an understanding of how our body is put together and how it works. Decide which activities you d like to do to obtain the required amount of points. REQUIRED POINTS FOR THIS ACTIVITY: +30 points 1. Body System Videos & Notes Sheet: +10 points Go to Google Classroom and find the shared document called Body System Videos Watch the videos Fill out the Notes Sheet (p. 1) completely 2. Reading Assignments: Digestive System: +5 points Read textbook p Do thought boxes Circulatory System: +5 points Read textbook p Do thought boxes Respiratory System: +5 points Read textbook p Do thought boxes 3. Complete the Name that Part, Name that System Worksheet (p. 2): +5 points 4. All Systems GO! Matching Activity: +5 points Go online to: Complete the online activity o MUST get ed off by teacher before exiting screen (if you exit your screen, you will need to do it again) Complete the All Systems Go Worksheet (p. 3) 5. Complete the BIG IDEA: Body System Questions (p. 4): +10 points ALL WORK DUE:
Directions: Body System Video Notes Label the parts of the body that are mentioned in the video. AFTER the video, LIGHTLY color code the parts according to system. Label your colors below. Muscular= Draw in the main parts of the respiratory/cardiovascular system that are missing in this picture. Skeletal = Respiratory/Cardiovascular/ Circulatory = Digestive = Excretory = Nervous = Draw in the main parts of the muscular system in this leg. Draw in the main parts of the skeletal system in this leg/foot.
Name that Part, Name that System Directions: Match the letter of the parts to the FUNCTION of the system. Then, name the system those organs belong in using the word bank. Body Parts Matching Choices A. Bones, cartilage B. Brain, spinal cord, nerves C. Muscles, tendons, muscles in organs D. Female and male genitals, hormone glands E. Heart, veins, arteries, capillaries F. Kidneys, bladder, urethra Body Systems Word Bank Muscular System Nervous System Skeletal System Reproductive System Circulatory System Excretory System 1. Removes wastes from the body. 2. Produces sex cells to create children, controls male and female characteristics. 3. Carries materials to the body s cells. Takes away wastes. Works with the respiratory system. 4. Supports the body; works with muscles for movement, produces red blood cells. 5. Controls all body functions, senses, and recognizes information from in and outside the body. 6. Helps the body to move; helps push materials through the body. Works with the skeletal system.
All Systems GO! Go to the website and complete the activity. Fill in the following information as you are working on the website. A.) In the boxes below, fill in the parts/organs that belong to each of the systems. B.) Click on the LEARN MORE button to answer the following questions. 1.) Which system is jam packed? 2.) Can an organ be part of more than one system? Why or why not? 3.) Why are the nose, eyes, and ears part of the nervous system? Digestive System Nervous System Skeletal System Circulatory/Respiratory System
Big Idea: Body System Questions 1. What body system helps humans turn the food they eat into energy? 2. What body system helps humans breathe? 3. What body system controls other body systems? 4. What body system provides structure for the body? 5. What body system allows us to move? 6. What body system includes a transport system (blood) and a pump (the heart) that keeps the transport system moving? 7. Name two body systems that work together. Explain how they work together. 8. What part of the nervous system is essential for it to work properly? 9. What event could disrupt one or more body systems? 10. Which parts of the respiratory system would need to be blocked to not allow any air into your body?
