We promote our area through ads, tradeshows, and encouraging people to "Get and Stay Healthy in Kingsway." It Starts Right Here in Edmonton Kingsway. Whether you are a newborn just coming into the world at the Royal Alexandra Hospital or going for your first dental appointment, Edmonton Kingsway is the destination for a long and healthy lifestyle. While you are here, take time to visit one of our over 200 retail locations in the area or dine at one of our many restaurants to choose from. Edmonton Kingsway is close to downtown conveniences but without the downtown hassle or hustle is a milestone year as the KDA celebrates 30 years! Back Cover Scott Whitlow, Board Chair Kingsway District Association The KDA has been very busy through the Fall. We held our 30th Annual General Meeting. This was a chance for us to update our membership on all the initiatives we completed or started in the previous year. It is truly amazing what we are able to accomplish when we work together in this district. As 2017 comes to a close, I would like to thank all of our members for their hard work and dedication to the Kingsway District. Continued hard work this year has seen us complete many of our projects. We must continue our hard work in an effort to expand the number of businesses in Kingsway and keep member engagement strong. I personal would like to thank the staff, board, committees and members for volunteering their time, energy, enthusiasm and commitment. We have created a stronger organization with informative programs and services. The association has a newly upgraded and easily navigated website and we will continue to grow. Our goal last year was to bring out our members and enhance the district all while supporting the businesses we have here Now more than ever, we need to better educate and inform our political leaders about our expectations for Blatchford, Kingsway and our desire for growth of jobs and new business opportunities. 3 30th year Gala highlights! Over 285 members joined us to celebrate our 30th Anniversary celebration and Business Awards. We were entertained by our fabulous DJ Sheldon from Infinite Event Rentals During the event we recognized several business within the Kingsway District for their outstanding achievements and ongoing support. Special thanks to Luxur Fine Cars and The Edmonton Inn & Conference Centre for helping make the event such a success. We look forward to working with our members for another 30 years. 5 30th Anniversary AGM On October 20th, 2017 The KDA held our 30th Annual General Meeting. We had 88 members in attendance to approve our 2018 Budget and to select our Nominees for Appointment to the 2017/18 Board of Directors. We are extremely proud of the highly respected organization that the KDA has become. Kingsway is a pretty significant area of Edmonton. Since it's beginnings in 1987 the Kingsway District Association has focused its attention and its resources on the long-term development of the Kingsway area. It is our association s hope that with each passing year the BIA can actively contribute to becoming a distinct business personality that will serve to enhance this area for years to come.
