2 Dear Potential New Member, Letter from the Recruitment Coordinators We are pleased to introduce you to Wichita State University s Greek System. Through the formal recruitment process of Women s Panhellenic Association you will meet the amazing women of Alpha Phi, Delta Delta Delta, Delta Gamma, Gamma Phi Beta and Pi Iota Chi. These women have been working hard preparing for this year s recruitment and are eager to meet you! These next few days will be an exciting time for you to make many new friends and participate in a variety of activities. We strongly encourage you to keep an open mind and a positive attitude throughout the recruitment. Choosing the right sorority for you is an individual process based on your unique interests and needs. Whether you are looking for a focus on academics, philanthropy, social development or leadership, all of the chapters offer these wonderful opportunities. You will be assigned to your own personal Rho Gamma (Recruitment Guide) who will act as your tour guide and an unbiased support system while you visit each chapter. These ladies will answer any questions you may have. Anything discussed with your Rho Gamma will be kept completely confidential. Your Rho Gamma is there for you, so please don t hesitate to talk to her about any concerns or questions you may have! Over these next few years you will grow, learn, and develop into outstanding women. Take advantage of this opportunity to further your growth and enhance your college experience while creating life-long friendships, sincere sisterhoods and opportunities to mature. This book will give you information about each chapter, dates for recruitment and even what to wear each day. This is our way to give you a quick look into our community before recruitment begins. The recruitment staff, along with all of the Panhellenic sorority women, welcome you and wish you the best of luck! Each of the Rho Gammas has willingly disaffiliated from her respective chapter to ensure complete dedication to the recruitment process and her obligations as a Rho Gamma. At no point during the recruitment process are the Rho Gammas allowed to reveal their chapter affiliation. 12 Tips for for Recruitment Talk to your Rho Gamma. She can give you some objective advice. Be polite and courteous. Ask questions and remember you are a guest in someone s house. Be yourself! Sororities are interested in the real you! Make your own decisions. Don t let others decide for you. Recruitment is a mutual selection. You are choosing a sorority and they are choosing you. Be on time! If you are going to be absent or late, let your Rho Gamma know immediately. Remember that the women in the chapters are not allowed to contact you outside recruitment events. If you see someone on campus say hi but don t stop to chat.
