ELECT: LT. GOV: ZONE 3 Chuck Steininger Dear Optimist members, President s Message October was a good month as we roll into our new year. We got our budget set and approved for the year. Thanks for another great job by Billy Johnson on the golf tournament and to all those who helped. Billy has created a very successful event for our club and it continues to grow. We greatly appreciate the fund raising this event provides to further our work in the community. Many thanks to Beau Tucker and crew for heading up the BBQ event. Another great job by Beau, Joe Moore, James Coleman and all of the members who came out to help. We rely on the volunteers of this club to step up and get any job done and you come through every time. This was a tough year for the BBQ workers as we lost three valued members this year and many of our senior members were unable to attend. We need the help of all that can contribute on these large projects. Remember; A load that is heavy for one is lifted easily by many. November will be very busy with the Christmas Tree Lot getting set up on the 13th and trees arriving on the 25th. The full schedule is at the back of this newsletter. Please save it and come out to help when you can. Remember you can come to the tree lot to help at anytime and are not restricted to only your team s days. At the lot, we will again have a Pork Butt sale and Brunswick stew will be brewing, both in December. Get your butts ordered now. Also now is the time to mark your calendar for the Opti-Mrs. Annual Christmas party which will be on December 3rd. at 8 PM at the club house. All members and ladies are invited as we enjoy a pot luck of finger foods, beverages and unlimited fellowship for the evening. I would like to take a moment to send prayers to the members who have lost loved ones and those that are ill and can't come out and join us. Please take a moment and consider all those who are on our prayer list. Respectfully, Mike Jones OPTIMIST Mission Statement: By providing hope and positive vision, Optimists bring out the best in kids.
