2 ABOUT THE ISP The Indian Society of Periodontology, a non-pro it making association of Periodontists of India was formed in 1975 with the primary aim of promoting and enhancing the knowledge and science of Periodontology in the country. It is one & only Of icial Organization for the specialty of Periodontology & Implantology in India. It has come a long way from the yesteryears, from a handful of members to more than 8000 members, representing diverse areas and designations across the country. Today ISP is one of the most represented dental specialty organizations in India. OBJECTIVES To promote the co-operative efforts of its members with regard to the advancement of science and practice of Periodontics. To convene scienti ic meetings/seminars at periodic intervals. 3 National Annual Conference, 5-7 October, 2018 The lagship event of ISP is its National Annual Conference, held every year in the month of October/November. This event is the largest attended event of ISP with more than 1500 members participating. The scienti ic events and deliberation during the meeting are spread over three days and every year top notch speakers from around the world are invited for the talks. Around speakers of National eminence also deliver and share their thoughts with the participants. There is usually a huge participation from the trade as 'Podium sponsors' or as 'Trade Participants'. For the industry this event is the right platform to showcase and network with the Periodontists of the country at one place and in luence their thoughts with the innovations and cutting edge technologies. The 43rd National Annual Conference shall be held in October 2018 at Chandigarh. About Chandigarh Chandigarh is a Union Territory in India that serves as the capital of Haryana and Punjab. Essay Competition ISP holds Essay competition annually for the under graduate students, post graduate students, dental surgeons (all specialties) and life members. Professional Enrichment Program (PEP) ISP in collaboration with Indian Dental Association Organizes a One Day Programme at different locations with the target audience of general dental practitioners. Around PEPs are held in a year. Colloquium ISP started this unique programme in 2013 and is organized at 2-3 different places annually. The aim of the program is to encourage sharing of knowledge and ideas amongst the perio fraternity. This program is attended by the post graduate students and the faculty of the region. Integrate This ISP event held annually at different places (2-3) speci ically addressing the science of Implantology. Sameeksha Sameeksha is a revision course which is held each year for the third year post graduates for their revision and preparation of their inal examination. Parichay It is a orientation program designed for the irst year post graduate students to introduce them to the scope of Periodontology.
