1 Cartwheels Gymnastics Location: Main Gym, Sutherland P.C.Y.C., Waratah Park. (Off Rawson Ave). CartwheelsGymnastics.com P.O. Box 836, Gymea, 2227 Ph: Members Handbook Information, Terms & Conditions Tum- Artistic General Acrobatics The sport of gymnastics is a whole body sport providing participants with physical challenges promoting co-ordination, balance, flexibility & strength. The gym environment helps develop listening & comprehension skills, concentration, co-operation, teamwork, self discipline & provides gymnasts with the opportunity to perform for audiences. Cartwheels Gymnastics was established in 1999 & while we have competitive programs we are primarily a recreational facility. Our aim is to enable children of all ages & abilities to enjoy gymnastics to their fullest potential. CG provides a stimulating variety of equipment, often modified, to encourage confidence in beginners & a safe yet challenging environment for learning in the gym. Our progressive programs & equipment combine to enable students to learn at their own pace & work towards achievable goals. Programs are tailored to all ages & abilities, suitable for toddlers through to adults & advanced performance & competition classes. CG is an affiliated member of the sports state governing body (GYMNSW) & national governing body (GA). Our coaches follow the pathways of the National Coaches Accreditation Scheme (NCAS) & are required to undertake regular updating both internally & through GYMNSW.

2 Recreational Programs: Launchpad & Gymskills (General Gymnastics- GG): 1 hour programs utilising not only traditional apparatus but also modified equipment, including trampolines, climbing apparatus & even circus equipment. Launchpad includes activities from all gymsports & activities to challenge the body & mind alike. Gymnasts work through a progressive series of skills that encourage the development of each student as their physical competency improves. Launchpad classes are offered to students in Pre-school through to teenagers. For More information on the Launchpad benefits go to: Acro Tumble: In the tumbling program we specialize in floor work to develop tumbling skills, strength, flexibility & performance skills. We use a specialized tumbling trampoline, sprung floor & mini-trampoline to develop floor skills. While the emphasis is on floor skills the program also uses traditional gymnastic equipment for physical preparation & conditioning as well as activities from other gym sports. This class also caters for dancers who want to use tumbling skills & tricks in their routines & need help developing these skills. For Something a little more intensive: Non-Competitive Acrobatic Gymnastics: Is offered to gymnasts who would like to do acrobatics without being committed to the competition circuit. Acrobatic Gymnasts work in pairs & trios performing dance, balance, dynamic stunts & tumbling skills on the floor area. This is a 2 hr program where students may progress to the competition class if they want to take it further. Non-Competitive Women s Gymnastics: a more intensive 2 hour program for gymnasts who s skill level has outgrown the Gymskills program. If you are interested in this type of program please feel free to discuss your child s suitability with the coach. Advanced & Competitive Programs: Women s Artistic Gymnastics (W.G.): W.G. Levels Program: Also by selection, this is a competitive program for the more advanced students. These gymnasts can also compete in N.S.W.G.A. Team Gym competitions & are expected to perform in displays. Development Program: an intensive 2 hour program developing gymnasts for the either WG or Acro levels program. This program is offered by selection. If you are interested in this type of program please feel free to discuss your child s suitability with the coach. Acrobatic Gymnastics (Acro): Acrobatic Gymnastics is a competitive gym sport that incorporates dance, balance & tumbling skills on the floor area. It is a team sport that requires commitment as the gymnasts work in pairs or trios. Two routines are performed in competition: balance:- static skills, and dynamic:- throws & pitches. Acrobats must be available to compete on the required days & are also expected to perform in displays.

Contacting Staff & Notification of Changes: Always use the contact us page on our website for all queries/enquiries, the appropriate person will contact you as necessary. Also notify the coach of any medical / disability information relevant to coaching your child. Uniforms & Clothing When your child first begins gymnastics classes they will need to wear comfortable & non-restrictive clothing. When you are happy that your child intends to continue with gymnastics it is recommended you purchase a club training uniform. Although the uniform is not compulsory, it is required for all performances or when representing the club at any external event. Development & Competitive participants are required to have full club uniform including club tracksuit, black leg-ins & training uniform. Competition leotards & performance costumes may also be required. These will be provided to students & invoiced as needed. Club Training Leotards & Training Tops can be purchased through the club. Order information will be made available prior to the order date, only one order will be placed during the year. Hair: make sure your child arrives at class with their hair tied up neatly, preferably plaited. Long flowing & even loose short hair restricts movement & is not acceptable.
