1 The long winter months are over, what is coming up in BCHC? Spring is a time that encourages us to get active. We have Hatha Yoga, Restorative Yoga, Pilates and more! Hatha Yoga 10am Mondays & 6.30pm Wednesdays ($10 per class) Pilates 7.15pm Mondays ($10 per class) Restorative Yoga 7.30pm Tuesdays ($10 per class) Blue Water Fitness Exercise Class for over 55 s 9am Tuesdays & 3pm Fridays ($5 per class) Tai Chi 5.30pm Thursdays ($10 per class) We are lucky to have such talented and inspiring instructors. All welcome! There is no obligation to sign up for a series of classes, you pay for each class as you attend. For more information, please contact

3 Update on programs and services for young children and BCHC We are lucky to have such a selection of quality services and programs available for young children and families at the. We have the Maternal and Child Health Nursing service provided by the Colac Otway Shire available every second and fourth Wednesday of every month. We also have a monthly Gymbaroo program facilitated by Olga Barrett from Geelong Gymbaroo, which runs every four weeks at BCHC. BCHC has recently started up a monthly playgroup, which has been running every fourth Wednesday of each month to coincide with when Di is attending BCHC to provide her Maternal and Child Health clinic. It has been recently identified that there has been some confusion regarding the monthly play group dates and when the maternal and child health nurse clinics operate at BCHC. The Maternal and Child Health Nurse clinics are available every second and fourth Wednesday of the month at BCHC. This is not every two weeks, the clinics are set to occur on the 2 nd Wednesday and the 4 th Wednesday of every month, regardless of whether there is a fifth Wednesday, as what happens on occasion. The monthly Play Group was originally scheduled to occur on the 4 th Wednesday of each month to coincide with Di s second clinic each month, however there are three months coming up in 2016 when this will clash with Gymbaroo program which occurs "every four weeks". This may be where some of the confusion may have occurred. For September, October and November in 2016 the monthly play group will occur on the 2 nd Wednesday, to coincide with the Maternal and Child Health Nurse being on site and to avoid doubling up activities in one day. The December play group, if to run on the 4 th Wednesday will actually be on Boxing Day, so it will be best to chance the December play group to the 2 nd Wednesday as well. The dates for the monthly play group, Maternal and Child Health clinics and Gymbaroo for the rest of 2016 are: Monthly playgroup Gymbaroo Maternal and Child Health Nurse clinics 2pm Wednesday 14 September 2pm Wednesday 12 October 2pm Wednesday 9 November 2pm Wednesday 14 December 11am Wednesday 28 September 11am Wednesday 26 October 11am Wednesday 23 November 11am Wednesday 21 December 14 September 28 September 12 October 26 October 9 November 23 November 14 December Please feel free to contact us if you require further information or clarification on
4 BCHC ongoing weekly community activities and programs Monday Tuesday Wednesday Thursday Friday 9.30am Adult Day Activity Program ($8) 9am Exercise class with Blue Water ($5) 9am Birre walking Group ($1) 10am Shopping Bus to Colac ($5.40) 12pm Community Lunch ($8) 10am Hatha YOGA with Lynne ($10) 7pm Birre Craft Group ($1) 1pm French class ($1) 7.30pm Restorative YOGA with Jess ($10) 6.30pm Hatha YOGA with Hope ($10) 5.30pm TAI CHI with Seona ($10) 3pm Exercise class with Blue Water ($5) 7.15pm PILATES with Kylie ($10) Magic the gathering youth BCHC BCHC hosts a fortnightly Magic the Gathering group on Fridays between pm. The next Magic the Gathering BCHC will be pm Friday 9 September For more information, contact us on Adult Day Activity Program The runs a weekly Planned Activity Program every Monday. This program is a recreational program for the frail aged and people living with a disability in our community. Our philosophy is to provide and enhance maximum intellectual, social and emotional support to prevent social isolation and maintain consumer independence through our social networking within our program. We encourage clients to participate in activities and interests of their choice whilst also providing respite for families and carers. The program is set up to provide a responsive, friendly and supportive environment that engages our clients in the design of the program itself. Our program provides the opportunity to engage in community and social activities and events for those in more isolated situations or those who no longer have the means to make these connections without some assistance. Our group engages in all manners of activities, such as cooking, brain teasers, games, monthly outings and more! The program runs at BCHC every Monday from 9.30am to 2.30pm. An initial assessment is required. We would love to hear from you if you might be interested in participating in this great program, or if you know someone who may benefit from doing so. Please contact Emily for more information on
