2. Presentation of Annual Report (SS) Outcome / Action Required I. Club formed 16 months ago 104 paid members plus 2 who have paid but not submitted forms Acceptance of Annual Report Proposed: Jamie Carson Seconded: Gareth Williams I 3 honorary members: President Miriam and John and Debbie from Merlin All going according to plan and club has come along way in a short time. Favourable comparisons in membership compared to other local clubs. The club is where it is meant to be: steadily growing in numbers and with some members racing competitively and others helping to marshall events. 3. Presentation of Accounts (SS in JC absence) Outcome / Action Required I. Copy of bank statement available for members to see on mobile phone. Current balance: Acceptance of Accounts Proposed: Mark Sheffield Seconded: Rob Crank I North Lancs Time Trial paid BC affiliation paid. BC affiliation now 187 due Jan. We have the money to pay it - it comes out of the money Merlin put in. Club to renew BC affiliation early to save 25. V. Affiliated as club with 2 sponsors. 62 per sponsor. They charge for up to 7 sponsors and then after that you can have as many as you want free of charge. VI. With Merlin s input and club membership the club is comfortably funding itself.

4. Election of Committee/Office Bearers Outcome / Action Required I. SS proposed a change in constitution to drop the Club Chair position and replace with General Secretary and change Club Secretary to Minute Secretary. SS felt the change was necessary to relieve the pressure off SS due to the club s growth and increasing workload. Acceptance of Constitution Change Proposed: Steve Salmon Seconded: Rob Crank I SS confirmed that he will still be the hub and main collator of and dispenser of information for the club. Remain involved with PR and affiliations. With no other members putting their names forward the following remain in Committee positions: Honorary President: Marion Rowlands (based in Stoke) General Secretary: Steve Salmon Minute Secretary: Rob Crank Treasurer: James Crank Membership Secretary: Stuart Kowalski Time Trial Secretary: Jamie Carson Committee Members: Zac Bragg, Dave Barrow, Nick Cuttle, Ian Robinson, Peter Kevan Acceptance of Overall Committee Proposed: David Beattie Seconded: John Birtchet- Sharpe All Committee Members to be contacted by SS individually for permission to put their Committee status on website. 5. Motions Outcome / Action Required I. Gareth Williams proposed the creation of a Competition Sub Committee to proactively put races on, help organise/marshall other races, share transport etc to support members such as Luke with a representative for each discipline ideally. Members felt this was a natural progression for the club and that it would also filter through to sponsors. If the members want to actively get involved and make it happen contact Gareth. Sub- Committees can have their own page on the website. To be discussed further. All social and formal meetings to be posted on

I RC noted, in addition to above, that less formal social meetings of members had been proving successful in making things happen for the club. Confirmed that the quorum was still to be met for any decisions. SS suggested the club create the role of Club Kit Co- ordinator currently performed by RC and Chris Leak. GW Adopt Derain House as club s chosen charity. Has already got 222 in pot to give to them. Suggested a sportive as a money raiser.ss confirmed it would be easy enough to integrate logo into kit design. Allowed up to 6 logos on chest and potentially room on back of kit without it looking too fussy. No conflict for Merlin. V. Club to be involved in Chorley Council Street Sport s Day if it goes ahead. CCC to set up turbos and spin in club colours. Could hopefully collect for Derian House too. website and Twitter. No takers. To be discussed further. Acceptance of Derian House as Club s Chosen Charity Proposed: Gareth Williams Seconded: Ian Robinson Link to Derian House to be put on website. SS to keep members informed. 6. AOB Outcome / Action Required I. Attracting younger members. Currently under 16s can come on rides if parent/guardian present. Like other clubs it could be set up as a separate entity and used as a feeder club. Members felt overall that it would need to be organised and structured properly and nobody at present could commit to this. Big step to introduce a dedicated junior division to the club. Felt that the club would struggle for qualified coaches and volunteers at the moment to support junior cyclists. To be considered again in another year s time. Attracting more female members. Less than 10 female members at the moment. Could potentially be put off by presumed speeds of group cycles. Safety concerns and lack of cycling Promote safety aspect of cycling in a mixed group on website. More images of women cyclists on website. Sue Howarth to discuss a more simple solution

I know- how. Women- only rides would need a lead/volunteers; members felt that mixed rides were better. RC thinks in general more intro style rides would help attract more new and diverse members. Well attended and only publicity through WoM and Twitter. Members can upgrade their ride to a different group when comfortable. Katie Ingram World Champion Duathlete to be offered honorary membership. Rik Waddon was offered honorary membership; expected to accept but not finalised yet. Comes out on rides. with Steve another time. Continue to remind members via website to cycle with the correct group for their ability as not to deter less confident riders. SS to look into forging inks with local triathlon/duathlon clubs. Offer Honorary Membership to Katie Ingram Proposed: Peter Kevan Seconded: Rob Crank V. CCC to support local organisation CDNW while he is down there. Members agreed VI. V VI IX. GW asked if we need a Press Officer. SS is happy for all PR to go through him as he has made good contacts. SS has nominated CCC for two awards in the Chorley Council Sports Awards. 1. Grass Roots Club and 2. Community Club. Highlighting we are a new club with 104 members, our racing achievements and the intro ride. Members invited to take CCC business cards to hand out to any cyclists they see out on rides or any interested organisations. Bike Fit Night. Nick Dinsdale, to give 2hrs of his time. He would cost 70. Attract new members and promote his business which our members have had much success with SS to push club more in local media. Will contact Chris Gee, Chorley Citizen. Remind Chorley Guardian of past links with club. Contact Trevor Dickinson, Chorley Sports Forum. SS will keep club informed of any news on awards via website. Some members took cards. To be linked in with social nights and promoted through cycle shop. X. Bike Maintenance Night mooted as another option. To be discussed during social meetings

7. Closing Remarks Outcome / Action Required I. GW Vote of Thanks to Committee Distribution of this year s awards: Uphill Climb Champion: Mark Griffiths (absent) 25 Mile Trophy: Jamie Carson To be named James Critchley Memorial Trophy hereafter. Critchley is 1880 club captain pictured on the club website. His great- great grandson, William Dunkley, who resides in the States is a CCC member who has bought the kit and supports the trophy name. Frank Rowland Memorial Trophy for Outstanding Effort: Rob Crank Trophy named in memory of Honorary Club President s husband. 10 Mile Time Trial Trophy: Jamie Carson Vote of Thanks to Committee Proposed: Gareth Williams Seconded: Richard Livesey Recipient of Frank Rowland Memorial Trophy Proposed: Steve Salmon Seconded: David Beattie I Christmas Night Out - Dec 7. Meet 7.30 at Rose and Crown - curry at SS closed the meeting by reiterating how far the club had come in such a short time. Other ways to continue developing the club will be looked at again in the New Year. Would like to thank our sponsors particularly Merlin Cycles. Next AGM to be a more formal affair with an end of year dinner and proper awards ceremony. End Time: 8.45pm
