2 Social Activities Committee Annual Report SAC is the library activities committee that organizes and promotes social activities for the library personnel. SAC also sends flowers and cards for various occasions, and provides monthly birthday treats. Social Activities Executive Committee: Consists of seven members: 2 faculty/professional and 5 classified staff and serve two-year terms. Committee members regulate coffee and activity dues. Social Activities Membership: During the term, efforts to encourage membership in the Social Activities Committee and increase library staff participation in SAC activities were initiated. Membership Dues are spent on various activities and functions for the library personnel such as parties, monthly treats and flowers and cards for different occasions. Dues are $10.00 if paid by October 1 or $1.00 per month They are 59 current members Coffee Club Membership: Membership Dues are spent on coffee and supplies Dues are $20.00 if paid by October 1 or $2.00 per month They are 8 current library members and 1 custodial member

3 Activities/Functions: Flower and/or Card Acknowledgments Sent to library personnel for various occasions such as bereavement, birth of a child, and hospitalization. Acknowledgment of current Social Activities Committee members through the delivering of cards and flowers. 14 cards were sent to staff personnel 5 flower / plant / balloon arrangements were sent to staff personnel Fund-raisers Held throughout the year to help raise monies to supplement our SAC dues for the benefit of social activities. 4 Activities/Functions continued: Other Thanksgiving Food Drive Casa de Peregrinos Sponsor A Family Drive Jardin de los Ninos Assisted in selling tickets to library staff for the NMSU Picnic Monthly Activity To celebrate the birthdays of library personnel each month Birthday treats (donuts and fruit) at the end of each month Special Project: Library Shirt Sale SAC sponsored a shirt sale with the NMSU logo and Library underneath the logo. The shirts were available in two colors ash (gray) and maroon and were purchased in various sizes. Shirts were available for purchase by both staff and student employees.
