The tickets are $15.00 in advance and $20.00 at the door. We are still looking for donations of new items to raffle off in the Chinese raffle and the Silent Auction. There will be a 52 card raffle for a handmade quilt, made by Shelli Gueli. The will also be a buffet style dinner. A lot of holidays will be upon us before we know it. Thanks Giving is Nov 23rd. Veteran s day is Friday Nov 10th. Let the veterans of the club know how much they are appreciated. Don t forget to set you clocks back 1 hour on Sun Nov 5th. The adult Christmas party will be Fri Dec 15th and the New Year s Eve party will be Sun December 31st. This is the time of year we are to give thanks for all we have. We also need to pray for all the hurricane victims, those killed in Las Vegas, and all those in the military overseas who standing guard over all of us to make sure we are safe from harm. We need to think about how we can help those in need this holiday season. I wish all the Eagles and Veterans everywhere a safe and joyous holiday season. There are a lot of events coming up in the next few months and I hope that everyone will volunteer and attend these events. Don t forget to get your tickets for the Diabetes Fundraiser November 4 th, it starts at 5:00 p.m. Please we need people to buy and sell tickets it is for a good cause. This is our annual fundraiser and is very near and dear to your presidents. Everyone has someone who has been touched by this disease. The Ladies Auxiliary would like to thank everyone who helped with the kids Halloween Party-especially Harlie Katz, Nancy Miller and Lisa Ochalek for co-chairing the party. District One Meeting was a success thank you to all the Aerie and Auxiliary member who attended. I would like to thank Barbara Brasington who covered the meeting for me while I was out of town. I hope everyone enjoyed the meeting and the dinner. Our ladies Auxiliary can cook a mean meal. Thanks to all the women and men who helped out with everything. Here are the important dates/events I mention before November 19 1:00 p.m. is the Senior Thanksgiving Dinner that Joyce Rochowiak puts on every year. There is a donation sign-up sheet at the bar. She also needs help on November 18 th for the dinner prep. Please if you can help out in anyway it would be greatly appreciate. Next is the Blood drive that Janice Eaton runs it is called Heroes for the Holiday and it is on November 25 th please see Janice to sign up. It is for a good cause we can never donate enough blood. Joyce is looking into a date for the Aeries and Auxiliary members to do belling ringing for the Salvation Army. When she gets a date a sign-up sheet will be posted. Please everyone let s do our part to make sure that every child can have a Christmas. Last but not least it is our kids Christmas Party the date has change to Sunday December 17 th from 1-3. We will need all the volunteers we can get for this event. Please Aerie and Auxiliary members come and help with this special holiday event. Let s do it as a joint event. I would like to congratulate Debbie Gagneau she was nominated and voted to be the Zone One Treasurer. Congratulations again and keep up the good work. Sincerely, Madam President Toni Watkins

We will soon be developing our calendar for The new calendar will be published as soon as confirmed. It was suggested by some that we continue the steak roasts into the winter season. We would like any feed back on that so we can gauge the level of support. I would like to say thank you very much for all of your condolences and understanding in my recent loss. Ginny's children Michael (son) and Caroline from Lansing, Michigan, Ed and Stacey (daughter) from Rochester New York and Steve (son) and Heather from Melbourne Australia all attended and were so impressed with our Aeries that they purchased a Cherokee Princess Box Elder tree with a stone marker to be planted on the Aeries property. It blooms purple which is Ginny s favorite color. It can be seen in the front near the Flagpole. Thanks to the Auxiliary for a beautiful memorial service everyone was very impressed by the memorial service. Please note our next Eagle Riders regular business meeting is Sunday Nov. 5 at 1:00 PM. We are looking for suggestions for our third Tuesday social outing. Our trip for October was to the Zukey Lake Tavern near Pinckney. We took the back roads to see the fall colors. We welcome anyone on our social outings. November is nominations of officers. Please think of taking an office. Dave Walker President REAC Eligibility 1) 60 years or older, 2) between 55 and 60 and retired, 3)under 55 years of age but permanently retired because of a physical disability, and 4) a candidate shall be a member in good standing of the Van Buren Aerie #3996 or the Ladies Auxiliary. The month of November the Belleville Food Closet is asking for soups all kinds, (no cream soups or glass, please) You can put your donations in the collection box in the social room.

Seniors age 65 and older at risk remains high, at 25.2%, or 12.0 million seniors (diagnosed and undiagnosed). 1.5 million Americans are diagnosed with diabetes every year. Sadly, diabetes remained the 7th leading cause of death in the United States in You can help support finding a cure by attending our Diabetes Fundraiser on November 4th. All proceeds go to the FOE Diabetic Research Center at the University of Iowa.

We meet from 7-9 and make quilts for our 3996 members who served in the military. Please come join us. If you are a member or the spouse of a member you can come in I will teach you to quilt. There will be some great incentives along with the Great satisfaction of the help you are offering to someone in need.
